Everyone puts FFVII on their lists, but I'm gonna throw a bone out for Final Fantasy VIII. Problems with the battle system aside, it had incredibly gorgeous FMV and a pretty interesting concept.
Other than that, Resident Evil, Gran Turismo, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Soul Blade, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon were my influential games. |

I'm missing Persona (either 3 or 4) on all these lists. Surely not a contender for top 10 of all time, more like a honorable mention. But im surprised no one mentioned it, most definetly one of the best games on the PSP.

Difficult list, but here's mine:
PSOne: (1) Tomb Raider 2 - gave Sony a mascot to promote the console. (2) Resident Evil 2 - popularised survival horror and influenced many games for years to come. (3) Final Fantasy VII - popularised RPGs in the west and captured the series from Nintendo, showing the power of the CD format. (4) Metal Gear Solid 1 - was a revolutionary game for the time and showed what video games are capable of. PS2: (5) Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - I nearly went GTA3 for how revolutionary it was, but this was the game that was a huge system seller and showed the future of sandbox gaming. I haven't included many PS2 ones here, despite it being a huge system as the PSONE built the foundation and the PS2 saw so many excellent sequels. PS3: (6) Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3) - this is the game that boosted sales for this initially, flagging console. (7) Uncharted 2 (PS3) - a new mascot for Sony was created, and the revolutionary gameplay showed how games could broach live action movies. (8) The Last of Us (PS3) - a revolutionary game for story-telling and production values. PS4: (9) Uncharted 4 (PS4) - a system seller with high production values and great gameplay. (10) God of War (PS4) - a system seller and reinvented the series, making it Sony's new flagship mascot. |

One game. Soul Reaver on PS1. Enough said.
![]() Good lists though. Thanks for including Syphon Filter in one of them. The music score in that game was next level awesome and the freedom to run, explore and be a tough agent was great in an open map environment per stage. I'd also add Driver on PS1 as one of the first open world driving games in polygon dimensional graphics. The realistic driving physics for a game of that time were simulation quality (if you don't count the floaty crashes) and even allowed reverse 180 stunts and spin outs, not even possible correctly on Gran Turismo of the time. Even GTA gave credit to Driver as they spoofed John Tanner from Driv3r. After Driv3r spoofed Tommy Vercetti first. Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 on PS1 was also revolutionary. I played the demo forever until the final game was released. I still remember that day, and I'm not even a skater. |

I adore Little Big Planet. Best game I played during my younger years. While this game is very far from blood and gore, it is pretty dangerous going around the levels the games and the community provide you. The storyline plot is pretty good and there are so many positive role models and messages to take down the villain of Story Mode.
