Default An interesting thing to wonder (at least to me)

The HD-DVDers slam Michael bay for preferring Blu? Slam his movies, his ability as a director, etc.

But...Steven Spielberg prefers Blu, too. Where are the slams on him and his ability? Or is it just that it's easy to smack around the king of the popcorn flick and not so much one who is inarguably one of the greatest directors in history?

He caught hell too. Go to AV$ or HDD and search his name, there were lots of "discussions" about the mans abilities as a director. And It was kind of amusing/sad to see where it was coming from. There is even now a thread discussing how little CEOTTK sold on BD. Of course they have no facts to back their claims, but who needs facts when you can pull numbers out of thin air?

Because SS has a lot more respect

And because Michael Bay has publically gone on the HD DVD sucks train, while SS has merely shown it with his actions.

I've seen SS get slammed at HDD and AVS.

It reminds me of politics too much, the Us vs Them mob mentality, where you can only like people that agree with you.

The irony is if Bay said HD-DVD was the future and BD sucked they would love him and hold him up as a hero.

As WickyWoo said though, Spielberg hasn't publicly bashed HD-DVD. He's had a PR guy say he's a BD supporter and refused to release his films on the other format but they use the wait and see theory on the reason.
