Default Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair (almost) confirmed

Not sure if this is still considered wish list territory, but here you go:

Quote:
Whatís going on with that is originally back when Kill Bill was going to be one movie, I wrote an even longer anime sequence. So you see in the movie [O-Ren] kill her boss but then there was that long hair guyÖ The big sequence was her fighting that guy. I.G. [The Japanese Anime Studio] who did Ghost in the Shell said we canít do that and finish it in time for your thing. And [plus] you canít have a thirty-minute piece in your movie. I said okay. It was my favorite part but it was the part you could drop. So we dropped it and then later when I.G. heard we were talking about doing Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair ó they still had the script so without even being commissioned, they just did it and paid for it themselves. Itís really terrific. Anyway, The Weinstein Company and myself were talking about actually coming out with it sometime, not before the year is out, but within the next year with limited theatrical engagement as well.

I remember seeing the box for this on display at Comic-Con in, I believe, 2006. They said it would be coming out that November.

It looked awesome, and I'm still holding out hope it somehow makes its way into reality.

I haven't caved on buying the existing blu-rays yet.

So I guess I'll be waiting another year now (I had been tempted several times by the double feature blu).

I have the Tarantino XX boxset, and they were included.

This pic has been the biggest cock tease since 2006.

Removing the cliffhanger at the end of volume 1 will make that final chapter so much more emotional.

The minute this gets officially announced, i'm pre-ordering it.

It's been a decade since both halves came out and I still haven't bought it out of my masochistic desire to only own them as one long movie. Hopefully the lack of Kill Bill in my collection will come to an end next year with what this news has mentioned.

As usual I won't believe it till I see it. It's been talked about forever.

Exactly. Tarantino always talks about all these awesome-sounding projects, and yet we end up only seeing about 15% of them actually realized. I actually don't care about an extended cut of the film...while I'd love to see any unused footage in a deleted scenes menu, what I really hope for is a definitive, in-depth "making of" documentary on the movie(s)...those fluffy EPK featurettes on the original DVDs/Blus aren't going to cut it.

I can't believe that it has been almost a decade since the rumors of this started. I think I stopped even caring about worrying about when it was coming about three or four years ago. I'll pick it up if it ever actually comes out, but I'm not holding my breath even with this news. I'm not putting myself through that again, lol.

Same here. I haven't seen them since the theatrical runs.

I probably wasn't even aware of the Whole Bloody affair in the DVD days, it was just coincidental that I never bought them for whatever reason. However this is what has had me holding out on the blu-rays. Not really sure why I haven't even gotten the double feature blu-rays yet - since they've been cheap enough. Now this new rumor will probably make me wait at least another year.

I lost interest years ago. It's what happens when you drag your feet. Besides, the two films are radically different in tone so I don't see this working out as one film. Pass

Honestly, this has been going on as long as Nightbreed The Cabal Cut, and that is FINALLY seeing the light of day! So if Nightbreed is getting released when most thought it would never happen, then I haven't given up hope of this getting released!

It's funny because I have totally held out on buying them all this time because I figured whenever they did TWBA I would snag it. And as I like the films, but they aren't anything I need to rewatch regularly, I haven't missed it, the only time I think of it is when I see the individual releases on sale and I'm like "eh, I have enough Blu's to watch right now". Will pick up TWBA should it become available, though, otherwise don't have a big need to own them after all this time.

I agree, both films have a different feel to them, & I'm happy with two movies, so I'm not waiting. But if The Whole Bloody Affair was released...of course I'd buy it

I held out for the longest time. Then I just couldn't take it -- and I got a great price (don't remember what it is, though). So, I just said, the heck with it.

But like others here, there's no way I'm getting my hopes up. Just not going to do it. When I put the disc in the player and it starts up -- I'll believe it then.

That was exactly like my situation. I had hopes it would eventually come out and waited until that $4.99 price tag came out for KB1 and 2. i waited no more.

If it comes out.. i'll double dip for it. KB Vol 1 is one of my favorites.
