Default Favorite copycat fast food recipes.

McDonalds Shamrock Shake
Ingredients
2 cups vanilla ice cream or 2 cups soy ice cream
1 1/4 cups 2% low-fat milk or 1 1/4 cups soymilk
1/4 teaspoon mint extract
8 drops green food coloring

Directions
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend on high speed until smooth.

Cracker Barrel's Hash Browns Casserole
Ingredients
1 (32 ounce) bags oreida potato shreds hash browns
1 onion, chopped or diced
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of celery soup
3 tablespoons margarine
1/2 lb colby cheese, grated

Directions
Preheat oven to 350*F.
Mix potatoes, onion, celery and mushroom soups, and 1/2 of the cheese.
Coat a 9" x 13" baking dish with spray oil.
Spread mixture into dish.
Sprinkle other 1/2 of cheese evenly over top.
Dot margarine evenly over the cheese.
Bake at 350*F for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until cheese starts to brown at peaks.

Steak 'n Shake Frisco Melts
Makes several sandwiches

1 lb ground beef (I use ground chuck)
8 slices sourdough bread
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 onion, sliced thin and caramelized(I skipthe onions)
4 slices American cheese
4 slices Swiss cheese

Frisco Sauce:
2 Tbsp. Thousand Island
1 Tbsp. Russian dressing(haven't tried this, I use ketchup

1. If you haven't already prepared the caramelized onions, do so first and set aside. Prepare the Frisco sauce and store in the fridge until ready to use.

2. Roll ground beef into golf ball sized balls. Heat a saute pan to medium high. Add ground beef balls, about 2-4 to a pan, 2 if you have a medium sized pan, or 4 if you have a large pan. The meat should sizzle when you add it, if not, your pan is not hot enough. Let cook for one minute, then flip over and using the back of your spatula, smash the burger flat into a thin patty. After a short time and the ground beef is mostly cooked through, flip once more, and add Swiss to one patty, and one American slice to another. Cover saute pan to help melt the cheese. Place on a paper towel to drain fat.

3. Spread butter on bread, toast in a toaster oven or in a clean saute pan until golden. Spread Frisco sauce to each piece of bread. Add warmed caramelized onions to one slice of bread. Add the patties and serve.

Also forgot to add this to my OP. Does anyone have a recipe for the seasoning that a lot of restaurants put on their curley fries? So far every batch I make is missing something.

I am also going to try my hand at making some 5 way chili this weekend.

I would LOVE the recipes for Denny's Fusion drinks. That's the best part of going there.

I have only ever found one online. And not even the best one, the Pacific Chiller.

"Chill out with the sweet flavors of coconut, lime, banana, and orange blended with ice cold Sprite."

I took my kids to Harry Potter World at Universal Islands of Adventure last year, and I have to say that their butterbeer was AWESOME! I've tried the following recipe, and while decent, was not as good as the real thing. I'd pay BIG $$ if they'd sell that stuff in stores.

Butterbeer by Melissa
Butterbeer! It warms you up AND tastes great. Now in take-away form from The Three Broomsticks. (Many thanks to Melissa for this recipe!)

Ingredients:
1 cup (8 oz) club soda or cream soda
cup (4 oz) butterscotch syrup (ice cream topping)
tablespoon butter

Directions:

Step 1: Measure butterscotch and butter into a 2 cup (16 oz) glass. Microwave on high for 1 to 1 minutes, or until syrup is bubbly and butter is completely incorporated.

Step 2: Stir and cool for 30 seconds, then slowly mix in club soda. Mixture will fizz quite a bit.

Step 3: Serve in two coffee mugs or small glasses; a perfectly warm Hogwarts treat for two!

Is it orange in colour? Some restaurants and supermarkets call this a "California seasoning blend/salt", but I can't find a proper breakdown of the included spices.

When my local OJ closed, I was searching like crazy for their recipe so I could still enjoy their drinks. Most of the ones I tried off the 'net were awful, so I did some experimenting and came up with this. A month later, a friend found a cookbook of "restaurant secrets" of which the Original Orange Julius was listed so she gave it to me, come to find out it's pretty much the same exact recipe as the one I made just by experimentation.

Orange Julius
Ingredients:
- 6 oz. frozen orange juice concentrate
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 8-9 ice cubes

Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients except ice cubes in blender.
2. Blend for about 1-2 minutes, adding ice cubes one at a time.

I don't have the Strawberry Julius recipe, but I assume adding strawberries to this recipe would work? Have never tried it.
