Default Raclette Dinner

My sister invited me to a raclette dinner over the holidays. I've had my share of raclette dinners over the years, but I'm not the biggest fan. I get the point of these dinners, it's all about socialising while waiting for your small pan of food heating up.

Preperations take long (my sister and her two daughters spend nearly 1 1/2 hours in the kitchen getting things ready), and once you're seated and 'loaded' your small pan you'll have to wait at least 20 minutes for it to be done. Raclette dinners are the worst when you're hungry! You'll get a tiny pan of food, which takes less than 2 minutes to eat, and then have to wait another 20 minutes for your next tiny dish of food to be done

In between waiting you can "snack" on whatever is sizzling on top of the raclette grill - little pieces of meat and veggies, but it's like eating scraps

Probably one of the more frustrating ways of having a dinner. Long wait, tiny portions and even more waiting.

Anyone like/dislike raclette dinners?
