I still have an account with CH but I haven't bought anything from them in years. I wonder if they even get any business nowadays I log in every once in a while just to decline the featured title.

I have two accounts with CH. I purchased the required titles immediately and then had them turn off the requirement to respond to the featured title. They did so without question.

Used to flex in the 90s with both Columbia House and BMG accounts. But I don't do them anymore - not even DMC.

I don't understand this company, they always do promotion on dvd. Do they mainly make money from old guys?

Back in the earlier days of DVD, circa 1999-2006, with promo codes you could get DVDs for about $5.00 apiece. You signed up with a promo code, get 7 for $1, buy the required 2 at full price, then close the account and open another and do it again. Lather, rinse, repeat. It was a great way to build up one's collection, but those days are long gone.

Wow, now here's a thread of the past... I used to be rockin' 3 CH accounts, and got MANY great deals from them over the years. But that was long, LONG, ago... They are no longer relevant in any shape, form, or manner. SFBC (science fiction book club), which I believe is still the same company as CH, does have some good deals occasionally, but I haven't ordered from them in several years either (12/1/2015)...

Default Columbia House

Their sales may only say DVD but they also include their
Blu ray selections.

I still have two accounts with Columbia House. I have not ordered from them in years. But I've kept the accounts just in case they happen to have a great deal or special. I don't have to respond to the monthly offer each month, as they turned that off at my request after satisfying the membership requirements.

Like most everyone, I scooped up plenty of deals through Columbia House—from LPs to CDs to DVDs. Then there's the BMG club, which enriched my CD collection greatly. I got hundreds of jazz and classical disks from them, at prices no retail location could match. They folded 11 years ago and I still miss those monthly catalogs and good deals.

The best deals were the glitches. I remember about a decade ago they had a B2G1 glitch where people were getting the 3 titles for free.

I used to like glitches but then I got old and no longer partake in them. During the transition, I would do battle with myself because I wanted the free stuff but didn't want to exploit. Kind of like the devil on one shoulder and an angel on the other.
