Thanks for everyone’s posts.

Their operations manager (Steve) got back to me and said that if I tell him how much it is for the padded envelope and shipping charges, that they will give me a credit for that amount in addition to credit for my returned product.

While this is a pain in the ass, I am willing to accept that and move on. We don’t have many alternatives up here for good priced Blus especially those that will sell Criterion’s for $20 CAD each. Willing to give these guys one more chance and see how they handle things after they get slammed with year end orders.

Wouldn't shock me. This is the most active forum I know of that focuses on the few of us Canadians that still buy physical media.

I got both of my remaining orders today (12 Blu's in total). They sent me everything I ordered and all of it arrived in excellent condition. Sounds like I got lucky.

You guys must have warmed them up.

I contacted them about a damaged Criterion case and they are sending me a replacement and told me to keep the original.

Let's see if they pull through.

UPDATE:

Sent the DVD back on Tuesday morning and emailed the estimated costs to Steve and told him I will leave it in his hands to determine the appropriate refund and they should take into consideration that this was not my fault and I want to stay as a customer. Haven’t heard anything so I emailed him this morning and asked for an update and still nothing.

I also made him aware of this thread if he was not already . . .

I did not, sorry.

Also we did end up reaching a satisfactory conclusion on my end (pending that they give the refund once they receive the returned disc)

Steve got back to me as well. I shipped mine back and they're shipping the Blu-rays to me. They will reimburse me for the ship cost.

Unfortunate for their company in that they did give us an amazing sale but the shipping reimbursements will cut into the business a bit. Unless its a form of write-off. They claimed online that they had everyone shipping stuff out, my guess is they weren't trained properly.

They currently have the Criterion Rosselini's War Trilogy for 45$. I know this went for 20$ for a short time a couple weeks ago but I thought 45$ is still a decent price.

Also they have a "Guns and roses" sale which basically means they choose whatever title they want to put on sale. Some decent prices in there such as 3:10 to Yuma Criterion for 25$ or the Leone kino titles going between 13.99 - 16.50$.

Most are the same titles you can get at Cinema1 for $10 but will take weeks to deliver.

Do they offer free shipping if you spend x dollars? Only option I am selling is a $14.99 Xpresspost option.

No, they have a flat rate though, I think the cheapest is $10 for Expedited Parcel.

Yeah, only option I see is the $15 Xpresspost option. Might be different shipping options depending on the province.

Last I looked UV requires spending $100 for free shipping so When ordering 9 Kinos from C1, even with $15 for shipping its still way cheaper then UV.

I waited two and a half weeks and heard nothing so I emailed Steve this past Saturday. He replied to me today (four days later):

“We'll be sending out a notice about this shortly.”

Guess we’ll see.

I've been waiting for a response for weeks about my missing title - they keep telling me an update will come shortly (on twitter DMS) but then....nothing.

Check your email. Just got an letter stating an inventory error means that any unfulfilled product will be refunded shortly.

I won’t post the letter here as it contains a 15% off non-sale items code for those of us affected.

Kinda stinks but oh well... I got 95% of what I ordered and am more than happy for.
