I rebought TV shows on vudu just so I could watch them on my TV. I have a Mac Mini but getting it on the TV is a hassle because it's outdated and Apple won't cooperate unless you buy new stuff. I don't have Apple money. I have vudu money.

No idea how I would even find this information and I'm not that picky. And I understand about $4.99 vs. $5. That really wasn't the point, but hey, if people want to pay $5 for something they can get for $2, more power to them.

It's 115 minutes and seems to match the description here as the "special edition". I've watched the first 35 minutes, and it does have the chicken shooting scene at the beginning, and the still frames during the title sequence.

The opening scenes are intentionally washed out looking to indicate its a different time, but after that it looks pretty good. Some of the outdoor long shots don't have the best focus, but the interior scenes look very good. I don't have the DVD to compare it too, but I'm glad I grabbed it.

Now you just need to have Roku, Firestick or Vizio money.

I always bought on Vudu because I don't have apple products. Now they have branched out and I consider it. But mostly still just MA titles. Was curious if anyone had reasons I hadn't thought of.

And the digital version here certainly won't be the Criterion scan. Would appreciate any comments on how HD it looks.
I didn't even know it was discounted until I saw this. Thanks I just bought it.

There are six categories for every Vudu sale. You can also dive deeper as to whether a code exists. I know which categories I buy from. YMMV.

MA (Not MD2D)
MA (MD2D from DVD)
MA (MD2D from Blu-Ray)
Not MA (Not MD2D)

Reminder: If you got that $10 credit from VUDU, it will be expiring very soon (depending on when you redeemed it).

I just used mine on Stakeout (Disney/Touchstone movie, still no Blu-ray after all these years despite the sequel getting multiple releases on Blu, and obviously not M2D eligible).

I also got The Stone Boy from the Western sale as a blind buy (no Blu either and doesn't appear to be M2D eligible).

Both MA.

And all of those are a hell of a lot cheaper than anything Apple. I suppose the Apple TV streaming box is in the reasonable price range though it's still about triple the price. Firestick is out of the question though since they don't carry the Vudu channel.

VUDU has to be sideloaded on a Fire, unless something has changed recently.

While I'm sure that's easy enough, I've had nothing but bad experiences with Fire devices.

Roku is perfect for me

Agree, as vudu user fire is not the right option. I'm in love with roku and now have 2x tvs with roku built in.

And newer Roku devices also include the Apple TV app, so you can watch iTunes purchases as well as VUDU, FN, and all the other key players.

Does that include the Roku streaming sticks?

The newest Stick+ definitely works with the AppleTV app.

Confirmed. I use my Roku stick whenever I travel. The only drawback to the Roku AppleTV app is that you can't access the special features if a movie has any. I'm wondering if that's by design, so that people consider picking up an AppleTV device. I love special features so if I didn't have an AppleTV I'd consider buying one. I used to try and focus all of my purchases on Vudu but once I realized how many movies had special features at AppleTV but not on Vudu I've started to change my buying habits (and I'm not a fan of Apple so that's really saying something).

Ditto. I used to buy from Vudu (having started my transition to digital with their M2D program) or wait for Amazon Prime Video to match iTunes sale prices.

Once the Roku Apple TV app appeared, I switched to iTunes as my favored streamer. Its streaming picture/audio quality is better than Amazon's, and its prints are better than Vudu's. Also, Vudu's future, now that it's up for sale, is uncertain.

The lack of special features is a definitely a minus, though. Hopefully, that will eventually be corrected.

Up for sale? When did they change from they have "thought" about the idea of selling? Care to point to this new article that confirms a sale?

I can't find the $4.99 deals on VUDU today. Just the Sci-fi, Schwarzenegger and Stephen King sales
