It's released by Pan Vision, and according to their site it has DD 5.1 sound and no lossless...

Here's the box:

<EDIT> Sent an e-mail to Pan Vision and asked them about the sound. Will keep you posted.

That's very surprising, since his movies are so moody and rely on a lot of audio cues. Don't suppose you have any info on region coding?

Too bad that it will not have lossless. This is a film that would greatly benefit from it. If it is region free, I'm sure that I will import it. Love this film.

No info on the region coding yet.

And if it's true that this only comes with DD 5.1 sound I'm not sure I'll bother buying it. Just sold my Swedish edition of Let The Right One In for the same reason (going to buy the new UK version with lossless audio).

I sent an e-mail to Pan Vision asking about the sound. Will let you know if and when I get a reply.

PS. I see that Pan Vision's release of Pans Labyrinth has DD 5.1 and no lossless sound either, so this doesn't look too good...

I think there's a reasonable chance that 'Mulholland Dr.' will be released by Optimum in the UK, as Studio Canal have distribution rights in Europe. It may even be in their next batch of the Studio Canal Collection, as they've already released one Lynch film ('The Elephant Man') in that series. And I'm sure that such a release in the UK would have lossless audio.

Let's hope so, because I'm sending my Norwegian release back if it's without lossless audio. Pan Vision hasn't answered my e-mail yet, so I guess they see what a big mistake they're making by releasing this with a DD 5.1 track only...

The same site has it as region B, but my guess is that this is just a standard thing they put up because this is a region B (Norwegian) release. If someone could find a picture of the back of the box...

I am thinking (hoping) the same thing.

Whatever happens, it's a good sign that the title has a blu-ray transfer somewhere in the world. Hopefully a US or UK release will follow if this is region locked.

Me too. I have a region A PS3 and a region B Panasonic player. So the region coding will be verified on release day; December 2nd.

It's available from:

http://www.platekompaniet.no/Film.as.../?id=5900053-8

But they only ship to Norway... And we're not sure if it will be region free yet either.

If I have an American PS3 do I have to worry about the region coding?

And if the BR is region-free how would I go about getting one shipped to America?
