Thank you jw and Bandapart
And Roar, Tiger and Batman as jw says If people read the post that was plastered on the Futureshop website Brana clearly states barring a nuclear disaster that wipes out 20% of the worlds population there WOULD be a Steelbook for Iron Man 2. fs have had months to keep us updated, but they chose the silent route only telling us now. I know that FS cannot control decisions made by studios, the point is they never deemed fit to let people know , not even on their own website what was going on. Thats seriously offensive. And yes Batman we here are collectors as we all know Tiger was once.

If anything I am quite certain Brana learnt a lesson on this one and hopefully we all did too. Nothing is 'certain' until the paperwork is signed and someones paid for it

If anything this episode has probably contributed to the recent lack of posting as it is now a case of 'once bitten, twice shy'.
The problem is Brana was ALWAYS shy, unlike Ian who would also visit here and politely let us all know what was going on. If she was truly worried about getting bitten then she should not have posted a list of movies that we now know FS have no intention of releasing as Steelbooks.....then silence.

It's just a freaking steelbook that WAS NEVER CONFIRMED not beign released.
Whatever man

Honestly, if you put any faith in the quote:

Quote:
This will be Steelbook for sure. Barring a nuclear explosion or natural disaster that wipes out 20% or more of the world's population.
Then I think you, along with everyone else who has had their dreams dashed and are actually genuinely mad at FS, were sinking a little bit too much faith into a 'Product Buyer' from FS.

But hey, apparently that's just me. Feel free to continue to hate on someone you don't know who is trying to give the consumer a little more insight into the future of steelbooks at their company, more insight I might add than most any other retailer currently does.

That's just you and I, I guess there's some good in being faithless.

I don't understand why some members are making a big fuzz over this? Big deal if FS is not releasing a BR steelbook for Iron Man 2. It isn't like FS or Brana "promised" that their would be one to begin with. It was all speculation from the get go.

Perhaps some of the complainers need to learn to be realistic and not whine whenever they don't get what they want.

Ya, I was over the disappointment after about 10 minutes, and I don't blame Brana in the least. But then again, I have no issues bringing home the German version .

Me. Once I heard, I hit up German traders to secure a SB and US traders for the the Target Exclusive. No lost but it would have been way easier if FS released one.

I agree that it is totally senseless to blame Brana for this. She simply made the same assumption THAT EVERY SB COLLECTOR IN THE WORLD DID. We all expected FS to release this as it is a blockbuster and the first part had been relased in Steel. We all made the same assumption about Media Markt releasing it (OK, that one is coming through )

Nobody expected Target to step up to plate on this one

I was disappointed at first to, but now I see it in a positive light; Not having to get it aloows me to get a Hot Toys figure (Mark IV Bust)

The only thing this quote should symbolize is Future Shop's intentions. They had every intention to release it as a SteelBook, but the outcome was beyond their control. If anyone is angry, please direct it toward Paramount (and capitalism for that matter).

Futureshop is one of the only SteelBook merchants to actually have a dialogue with the customer, and I appreciate that. Besides, the quote is still true...

I think it's pretty obvious that most reasonable people should not be offended by Brana's remarks, as disappointed as they may be.

Those who are upset (and looking for someone to blame) are in the minority.

Nobody is blaming anyone. I just think as they always say that they have all the info of these Steelbooks release in advance She/He/Brana could have said it before! That is the only problem with me and i do not blame Brana for not getting the Steelbook!

Disappointed, but over it.

Hopefully in future though, Brana treads a tad more careful when talking about possible upcoming steels.

I've been a bit disappointed in Futureshops steels all year long so far, but i think the last few months of '10 will make up for it.

First time it wasnt ther fault, but I really hope that they at least release Avatar SE as a steelbok, otherwise I will be very dissapointed in them.
