Yes, but that won't happen for the metal slip. There was never a remastered version in metal slip form. The case inside is the original release and features the 2009 art. Only the disc would be different if the owner had gone through the exchange program. From what I've seen the releases are as following:

Metal Slip: Original release
Slipcover: Original release
Slipcover with Pocket-Blu logo: Remastered release
Double pack with Robin Hood: Remastered release

Thanks for the advice guys. The disc says 2009, does the remastered disc also say 2009?

I think somewhere way back in the exchange thread, it was mentioned that if you play the movie, the title screen was different in the remastered version than in the original release.

Just read through this whole thread. Still considering what versions of Gladiator I want. I like the metal slip idea, but if that is completely impossible to get my hands on at this point, is the one with the embossed cardboard slip still available? I have tried searching for it but only came up with this link. It says "slipcase packaging".

Does anyone know exactly which version I would receive if I ordered from this link?

Have you considered the Digibook being released in the U.K. next month? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gladiator-Li...1531315&sr=1-3

Yep. Right now that's in the lead. I am just still keeping other options open before I pull the trigger.
It looks like the definitive edition is Region B anyway. I wish the steelbooks weren't so complicated and/or expensive.

Right now I will either just buy the Sapphire series with the slipcover LINK or get the digibook.

You should get a slipcovered release with the remastered version if you buy using that link.

When it says Region B, does that mean that's the region of release or that it's locked to Region B?

It generally will state the region it is released in,I know in The States it is a Paramount Pictures release(locked to A) but if it is the Universal Disc then you can rest assure it will be region free.
