Thanks for that, a bit underwhelming considering some of the other boxsets that are floating around for half that price!

Thats true.

I can't remember the second and third films either, even though I would like the set, I could get the Lion King in the lovely blue boardered diamond edition slip for 15. I think I'm going to go with that. Maybe if I get some extra cash down the road and it's still in stock I'll pick this up.

You can't remember because they were largely forgettable.

The two sequels were direct-to-video at a time in Disney's history when DTV was subpar to the studio's theatrical releases.

I think that might be indicative of how many people are going out of their way to purchase it. For most people, the regular trilogy set is already a considerable over-spend, since they're probably only after the original movie.

It's interesting to see reaction to this 'trilogy' set, over something like Jurassic Park or BTTF, where all the films were theatrical releases. It feels less legitimate to call the Lion King a 'trilogy' and I certainly find myself disinterested by the sequels despite the brilliance of the film that inspires them.

The real acid test is whether Disney would ever consider releasing separate blus of Simba's Pride and Hakuna Matata. I don't think they will.

Actually someone posted an ad which shows the release date of the separate Blus to be early 2012.

I may pick them up once they are in the bargain bin...

Is it just me, or did anyone else get 450 points when they entered the Movie Rewards code from the normal Lion King Blu-ray

It says on the slip it's worth 150, and I entered it, got 450 and it says I entered a code from the trillogy

Is it 150 per movie?

I don't know, I bought the The Lion King Diamond Edition. Just the movie on it's own in the blue slip, and the voucher inside says the code is good for 150 points. But when I redeemed it it told me it was from the trilogy set and it was worth 450

I'm not complaining though

Well colour me wrong - I guess they're happy to try and pull in some cash wherever they can. Fair enough.

I should probably point out that Zavvi have this edition on sale for 29.99 at present. If there are people still interested in getting this set I suggest you get your copy now as I have done

I'm very tempted to order a copy but it doesn't look like they have any in stock at the moment.
