Yes, I've ordered 'The Adventures' set, which is on its way to me now. I'll post my impressions of the transfers when I've played it.

I think this set contains most of the best episodes, taken from the original Adventures book. Broadly speaking, the stories in the later books tended to be weaker. Conan Doyle may have brought Holmes back from the dead due to public demand, but he was never quite the same.

I've now received the 'Adventures' set and played most of it. I was very pleasantly surprised at how well the transfers have been done. Actually, until I read this on another site before ordering the set, I hadn't realised that the entire series was shot on film rather than SD video. This was quite unusual for UK TV series of the 80's and 90's.

The only slight irritation with the set concerns the menu. First you have to remember to go to the audio menu option and select the English track, as it will otherwise default to the Spanish dub track. And, unless I missed it, there is no "play all" option, so you have to select each episode and then select chapter 1 to start playback.

Anyway I'm looking forward to the subsequent releases in the series.

My order finally arrived from Amazon Spain and the picture quality is great. The sound is decent with English or Spanish Dolby Digital 2.0 (192kbps) and there are no subtitles. The discs play on the Region A setting of my multi-region player.

Many thanks for the heads-up James. I've pre-ordered it.

I ordered them all thanks to the Amazon deal going on and I'm looking forward to receive them

Do anyone know why "Memoirs" is not available yet?

Came very close to ordering the Japanese Boxset over Xmas but convinced myself to wait and just found out about these Spanish releases yesterday so have ordered the 4 titles available on Amazon.es but any idea when the 5th one will be available?

Couldn't believe the prices on eBay wanting nearly 30 per set when all 4 from Amazon is less than 40 delivered.

I believe they are Region B locked.

Oh and I think I have found the Memoirs release but it's listed as a DVD even though it has a pic of the BD with a release date of the 29th May 2013

Hmmm... that's confusing. Can anyone confirm that it's definitely a Blu-ray release? I want to order it, but don't want to end up with a DVD!

FNAC says that EAN (8436022309302) is the Blu-ray version. I would assume the DVD notation is one of Amazon's many listing errors, and go ahead and order it, you will almost certainly get the Blu-ray pictured.

Cancelled my previous order last night and re-ordered all 5 titles and upon checking this morning they now have stock off the 4 previous releases (were listed as 10-11 days over weekend) which have been put aside for my order and Memoirs should join it in a few days, expected delivery date is next Friday

So wait...someone above said these discs were playable for Region A...now someone is saying they may be Region B locked. Which is it?

The discs play on my player in the Region A setting. I have just put one in again to check and it's playing now.

I would go with the person who has actually tried the discs, I just assumed being a local release they would be locked.

I don't suppose anyone has come across any custom English Blu-ray artwork for these?

Thanks for the reassurance, James.

I'm gonna do like Indy here and cancel my previous order (which was for The Adventures, The Return, and the Features), and order all five. This marks the third time I've sprung for the complete Granada series, and I hope it will be the last. haha

Okay, I canceled my order for the three sets and ordered all five, which came to about €61. That should come to about $79. But my bank account shows two separate pre-authorization charges, adding up to about $97. Which seems a bit excessive, considering the current exchange rate. Anyone else experiencing the same?
