Stopped by today and they had a few of them. They had IMN4 3 disc set x2, 1 disc set x4, Mars needs Moms x4, RTWM 3 Disc x3 [2 w/slip], Treasure Buddies x2, and a few others. Only picked up IAN4 3 disc + RTWM both with slips.

These 20% off sales have normally required a coupon, been on Saturday afternoon/evening for Buzz Club Members only and then all day Sunday for non Buzz Club Members.

This time the sale appears to be all day Saturday only, not on Sunday, no coupon required, and for Buzz Club Members only. I suppose if there are any non Buzz Club Members left, this encourages them to sign up.

So much for being able to go on Sunday.

I guess Big Lots is getting trickier. Not only have they taken away Sundays, but they used to run the 20% off while their weekly sale is active so you could score some really good deals. Every prior time that I remember the weekly ad went from Sunday to Saturday and 20% off days were just a bonus on top of that. As all good things must end, today we got some items (no movies as they have pretty much squat that I want there) on sale in the weekly ad only to be told it ended on FRIDAY. Sure enough I looked at it and it said 1/24/14. Who would've thunk to look at the dates... The only times I'm used to semi-week ads is Thanksgiving and Christmas week.

So, I guess we'll all know when a 20% off is coming when the weekly ad ends a day early (or starts a day late if they do Sunday again). It reminds me of the hunter in Jurassic Park say right before he was ambushed by the raptors... he said "tricky little buggers" or something like that.

I think it's difficult to say without trying it at the store first. I think it should work, but stores are usually pretty busy on their 20% off days. You could always ask to temporarily borrow a stranger's card at the store, it's not like they are credit cards. They don't accumulate points anymore, so you aren't missing anything if you used someone else's card.

Big Lots continues to move further and further away from its roots as a close-out specialist. They have been refining their business tactics in the past few years, it's apparent their newer corporate management has gotten a lot more sophisticated. I would expect the days of them leaving money on the table for customers is over.

My local Big Lots is crazy enough on a "normal" day. I think I might sit this sale out. I'm too scared...

"Clever girl" is the line. And I am not sure about all locations, but at the store I went to this morning their video games were 50% off.

Made it over to the local Big Lots today. For some reason they keep their BD's behind the counter. Picked all of these up for $36 after the 20% Buzz club discount today.

Went to Big Lots and the only thing I was tempted to pick up was Leatherheads but I need to stop blind buying movies when I have a ton I haven't watched yet.
