Big Lots is doing "Friends & Family" this Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. An extra 20% off everything. Time to check the movies.

I hope this shows up at mine, but I doubt it will. Is anything else on the set worth it besides Lonely Are the Brave (which I have digitally) and Spartacus?

Adrian Messenger looks familiar, so I wonder if I picked up that DVD somewhere along the way.

I went today and picked up a few titles:

X-men 2 disc Blu-ray on clearance for $2.50
X2 X-men United 2 disc Blu-ray on clearance for $2.50
The Big Lebowski on Blu-ray for $5

They don't have digital copies though. I got them to replace my DVD copies. $8 total after 20% for all three isn't too bad.

I was looking for To Kill A Mockingbird and couldn't find it. I saw one copy after Christmas when I was visiting family. I should have picked it up, but I had already spent a lot of money on Christmas and decided to wait on it. I'll probably be kicking myself for not getting it now.

I also ended up getting two tubs Peanut Butter Filled Pretzels and some Body wash.

Kirk Douglas: The Centennial Collection DVD
Set includes: Spartacus / Lonely are the Brave / The War Wagon / The Last Sunset / The List of Adrian Messenger / Man Without a Star / For Love or Money / A Lovely Way to Die

I have only seen four of the eight films (in bold) and I highly recommend them. At around a dollar per film (after discount) you really cant go wrong. Other Kirk Douglas films I recommend are Seven Days in May, Ace in the Hole, Out of the Past, Last Train from Gun Hill, and The Vikings.

Finally found invisible man\the mummy\big Lebowski on Blu.
Still haven't seen Dracula legacy or Hammer version of mummy.

For any DC collectors I saw Vixen on DVD which was previously at Dollar tree.

Found this Clint Eastwood collection at my local Big Lots. Was surprised to see it there. They only had one so I grabbed it before anyone else could.

It was $5

SOME Christmas themed movies are 90% off.

A friend of mine had a copy of Love Actually with the ornament scanned at the register & it rang up $.50. She ran back to get the 2nd copy she saw & it rang up the full $5. I don't know what the barcode difference was or what other movies might qualify (Munsters Christmas DVD, A Christmas Story 2?).

Are folks seeing A Christmas Story 2 on bluray at their Big Lots? I've only seen it on DVD at the stores near me.

I found it in 2017.

I finally saw (and picked) these up today for $5 each:

- Heaven Is for Real
- A Christmas Story 2 (in the Christmas display - more on that below)

I've been wanting them both for a while now. I'm sure A Christmas Story 2 will be bad, so I didn't want to pick it up until it hit this price.

Edit: Both have UV/MA codes despite no indication on the package. I redeemed them through VUDU and they've ported over to MA and other services already.

[Show spoiler]I also saw some Blus marked at what I assume is Black Friday pricing. 12 Rounds was $2.88 and I think one of the Wrong Turn sequels was as well.

Saw some $1.88 DVDs as well. Almost rebought the non-anamorphic Great Expectations DVD for that price to do M2D, but there were a million stickers over the original barcode, so I'll just wait for a deal on VUDU or somewhere else.

I saw Walking With Dinosaurs 3D for $5, but I'm long past the point where any 3D movie for cheap will entice me. I doubt I'd ever watch this one.

The Christmas display is finally up at my store. It is a giant pain! The movies at the front at "stuck" in the tiny space and have to be maneuvered out of the display. In addition to that, movies were falling down like Tetris blocks or dominos. It's very, very bad.

These are the Blus I recall seeing:

- A Christmas Story 2 (which I bought)
- Arthur Christmas 2D (with slip - no sign of the 3D version)
- Christmas in Connecticut

I almost bought Christmas in Connecticut, but I already own two copies of the DVD (one standalone, another in a set), and I still haven't watched it. The Blu will still be cheap next year IMO, so I'm no in rush.

If you're interested in the Christmas display, go sooner rather than later, because these Blu-rays will drop and end up becoming floaters (edit: the DVD of A Christmas Story 2 was a floater, but thankfully I don't care about the DVD), or eventually get mixed in with the regular Blus (which I saw happen today) because this horrendous display is impossible to restock properly. There are already problems with "wrinkled" cases, but I doubt that's because of the display.
Wish I had picked up Christmas in Connecticut when it was there. Oh well... Hopefully it will eventually show up at DT.

I'd break them down as:

Spartacus - A (classic)

Man Without a Star - B (solid western if you like westerns)

War Wagon - B/C (solid enough western if you like westerns)
Lonely are the Brave - B/C (solid enough western if you like westerns)
The List of Adrian Messenger - B/C (decent mystery)
The Last Sunset - B/C (not horrible)

For Love or Money - D
A Lovely Way to Die - D

Not a stinker in that Eastwood set, 4 solid films there, wish it came with a digital copy though.
