This is the closest I found to a vinyl "wishlist" type thread. I am a huge Pearl Jam fan and I have most all their albums, and most of the Fan Club singles as well, on vinyl. Long ago I had some income/employment issues and had to miss a few, so my current wishlist is all Pearl Jam:

Still trying to get the Beatles box-sets for a decent price which is proven to be quite difficult.

I bought Blue & Lonesome 2 weeks ago. Doesn't have the polish of a fully engineered studio lp. Kind of like raw feed. I think they churned it out in 3 days. Nice to hear them play all together in a studio setting. I liken it to hearing them in a bar that has questionable acoustics.

I actually like that kind of presentation for the blues. Warts and all kinda thing.

I do like the LP John. The vinyl quality is good. Quiet background. You should like the LP. I enjoyed it.

Finally picked up the Beatles box-set so those are checked off my want list. But now I have my eye on the recently announced George Harrison box-set. Another must-have for me.

I started buying vinyl in 1973 so I have pretty much everything I want, but there are some odd gaps in my collection, mainly early Floyd (I do have them all on CD), and some German stuff also from the 70s (eg., Neu!). So:

Floyd - Ummagumma, More, Atom Heart Mother & Obscured by clouds.
Neu! - 2 and 75

Looking forward to these pre-orders coming out in March:

Laura Marling - Semper Femina.jpg
Steve Hackett - The Night Siren.jpg
Aimee Mann - Mental Illness.jpg

The early PF catalog has been recently remastered. I picked up new copies of DSOM and The Wall. Each sound stunning. I'm very happy with both. Next up for me will be to pick up the remaster of Animals. Can't wait for that one. If the early work sounds as good as the latter titles, you're in for quite a treat.

Good to hear - I may pick up Wish you were here shortly as HMV here are doing it for 14.99. I have an 80s vinyl issue which is OK but I've always reckoned it should sound better, so the new one would be a good comparison.

Bit of trivia: I actually bought the LP on release but kept getting faulty copies - they wouldn't play through side 2. The shop must have had a whole bad batch because I tried out several. I became an expert in opening the black shrinkwrap I gave up in the end, which is why I ended up with an 80s issue many years later.

My daughter is a huge Floyd fan and I've been buying the albums for her - she has the whole lot on vinyl now except for Endless River.
