This little piece, if all the liquidations go as others have, says VG games were excluded but some accessories were reduced.

It also has some pics that make the store look like a ghost town. I almost don't want to go and see the store that way.

The liquidation sale has been pushed to start Friday due to the judge not signing the court documents yet making it official.

Also, most things will be between 5-10 percent off, there will be some things between 20-30 percent off, but not many though. Yes, game consoles and devices won't be discounted.

5 to 10 or 20 to 30 percent off of MSRP. Meaning, at best, similar to their normal prices.

Along with the stated exclusions, people are likely wasting their time with this for now.

I'm sure it won't stop the horse of people that trust the marketing signs and think they're scoring a great deal...

It took the Pokemon packs to be on sale buy 1 get 1 40% off to make the price come down to what they would be in a regular store, if that is any indication of how ridiculous their prices are.

The CEO of the company that makes Bratz dolls is trying to put together a plan to save roughly half of the Toys R Us stores, although it seems very unlikely it will work:

Quote:
Toy company executive Isaac Larian and other investors have pledged a total of $200 million and hope to raise four times that amount in crowdfunding in a bid to save potentially more than half of the 735 Toys R Us stores that will go dark in bankruptcy proceedings.

The unsolicited bid faces a number of hurdles like finding other deep-pocketed investors, as well as getting a bankruptcy judge to approve such an unusual plan. It is the first known plan to keep the Toys R Us brand alive.

The long-shot bid would be a huge benefit to Larian. Nearly 1 in every 5 sales made by Bratz doll-maker MGA Entertainment, where Larian is CEO, is rung up at a Toys R Us store.

That's very sad.

Thank you Mr. Lazarus for creating a store that brought me a lot of joy and helped contribute to a very happy childhood.

Decided to go to my local store and see how it was looking because I was right next door today, kind of glad I did. I've been looking for an Avengers Infinity War poster that recreates the comic book artwork and they had 1 left for $6.99! For whatever reason it wasn't included in the closing sale, of course.

All of the Disney movies were gone from the Blu-ray section, thought that was weird. They were totally stocked up all of the Toy Story re-releases, Pocahontas, Mulan, some Marvel, etc... all with slipcovers just last Sunday.

Toys R Us bankruptcy auction canceled, brand set for revival

https://www.polygon.com/2018/10/2/17...-us-bankruptcy

Toys R Us will live to see another day, as its controlling lenders choose to pull out of the bankruptcy auction.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Toys R Us’ controlling lenders “intend to revive the business behind the Toys ‘R’ Us and Babies ‘R’ Us brand names.” The goal is to “create new, domestic, retail operating businesses” while maintaining its licensing of certain products worldwide, according to court documents filed Monday, as reported by the Journal. The company’s lenders decided to reverse the order after speaking to controlling parties and deciding the brand was too valuable to give up.

Toys R Us representatives first announced that the company was filing for bankruptcy protection in September 2017. Dave Brandon, CEO and chairman of Toys R Us, addressed concerns about the company’s financial future at that time in a statement. That statement can be read below.

"Our objective is to work with our debtholders and other creditors to restructure the $5 billion of long-term debt on our balance sheet, which will provide us with greater financial flexibility to invest in our business, continue to improve the customer experience in our physical stores and online, and strengthen our competitive position in an increasingly challenging and rapidly changing retail marketplace worldwide."

I think this is worth a bump. Spotted this in Houston. I believe the other store will be in New Jersey.

I can confirm the second part, the other store will be at the Garden State Plaza Mall in Paramus, NJ. It's supposed to open very soon, in time for the holidays.

I read somewhere that there will be items to buy in the store but also they will have display items in the store that customers can place orders for. Im guessing big ticket items. I remember we had a small Sears in my hometown back when I was a kid that did something similar.
