I don't use it to keep track of my collections, but I DO use it for buying music. I've gotten some amazing deals, including all of the REM DVD-Audio releases from Automatic for the People through Around the Sun. Love this site.

Yes.

For LPs i find it is almost a must because there are so many different pressings of each album. I can't just say, yeah, i have Ride the Lightning on Vinyl , because different pressings can be very different.

I learned that last night

I picked up Arcade Fire's RSD "Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains)" and the "Reflektor" single that credits the band as The Reflektors.

Yup.

It's definitely my go-to site to find specific variants of records that are sold out from the labels/etc.

*sigh*

And I just spent more money buying The Beatles 2011 RSD release (the red box set of singles)...luckily this one wasn't *as* expensive because it was open, but the seller is adamant that everything is mint, with only some "minor shelf wear". Which I'm okay with because this is going into a collection that won't be re-sold, just passed on to my kids when I die.

I love using Discogs. Here is my profile: https://www.discogs.com/user/SeamusMusicfan28

When talking about movie soundtracks I had bought Blade Runner Vangelis from a store in Dublin recently which was a 1 CD edition.

But I only discovered the 3CD edition off Discogs last night and thought....Damn.

I discovered Discogs when looking up "The Dark Side of the Moo". Very informative site, I don't have much in the way of vinyl but I may start using it.

(No, that is not a typo. Too bad their divorce messed up all our stuff because there's a slim chance my father might have actually had that one. Big PF fan.)

I'm a little late to the party/discussion but yes I am very active on Discogs. I don't have all of my old LPs tracked as of yet (that would take up loads of time, plus smelling the dust and must and all...), but all of my singles (many formats) are listed. I'm actually very surprised at how worthy my collection is, so far. Come by and say hi! My profile: https://www.discogs.com/user/voigtjason

p.s. Don't be one of those people who aggressively beg me to sell my stuff. Believe me, there's a lot of people who do
