Gamestop announced it is halting its dividend today.

Strangely, it was one of the highest in town, more than 19%. And even more strange, they had the cash flow to pay it for a while too.

I used my GameStop gift cards from coca-cola rewards a few months ago.

GameStop was one of the few stores left where you could use a store gift card to purchase a gift card or an e-gift card on their website.

They wouldn't be if not for the magazine being bundled in Gamestop's membership program.

I expect we'll see a list of store closures coming soon. I'd be very surprised if they waited until Christmas to begin the closures but it is hard to say. Might be worthwhile to give it another holiday season.

My GameStop has Prestige status to them. That means, they will have special in-store sales that other non-Prestige GameStop stores wonít have. They had a Prestige sale several weekends ago, but I did not go. I didnít have money at the time.

I don't think GameStop would be around right now if not for Funko Pops. I can't believe they've made it this long honestly.

They're still profitable (surprisingly). Earnings per share of about $1.90 are estimated for the year.

They're in a downward spiral and the non-holiday quarters continue to get worse. But to counteract that they've been buying back shares, which is actually smart if the market is undervaluing it.

Not to say I'd buy that stock though, that thing is a dumpster fire - but that applies to a great many retail stocks that aren't Walmart/Target/Costco.

Lol donít blame the video game industry, blame yourselves for destroying your website right before the holidays and massively losing customers faith when they canít get their orders

Noticed this weekend that the GameStop in our mall is closing. They had liquidated most of their inventory by the time I got there. I'm surprised there aren't more stores closing in my state, there's literally two other GameStops within a mile of the mall that will remain open.

I've picked up quite a few 360 and Wii games for great deals (like Mario Party 8 for $8 and Alice for $4). It's slim pickings though. One of the managers told me that some of the other stores picked over the best games for their stores and he was surprised I found those remaining. Nice people worked in these stores that are closing, I hope they find new jobs soon.
