I've purchased all of the AGES titles thus far and am pretty blown away by how good they are. It really feels like a lot of time went into fine tuning these titles, and are worth the asking price. Having said that - for those on the fence, I'm a little disappointed with the Sega Genesis Classics collection on Switch...I attempted to play Streets of Rage 2 (in handheld mode) on Christmas Day and it felt extremely laggy, almost to the point where I was fighting with the controls. Not sure about all of the titles in the collection, but I was disappointed and reached out to Sega to let them know about it. I'm hoping they patch the collection.

Nice
I didn't choose it because I thought it would speed up the music!

Haha, nope. I have no idea how they implemented it and actually didn't know about it until I saw a Tweet from Frank Cifaldi in my timeline. It's some kind of M2 black magic and it makes the dungeons so much better to navigate.

Has anyone in Europe been able to buy it already? It still wasn't available this afternoon.

Next month we should see Gain Ground and Puyo Puyo. In the "near future" we should see Alex Kidd, Columns 2, Puyo Puyo 2, Space Harrier, VIRTUA RACING, Sonic 2 and Thunder Force AC.

Gain Ground will get an All Member Mode that unlocks all 20 characters along with an easy mode. Puyo Puyo will have online play and a ranking system.

Hopefully that Virtua Racing has Genesis, 32X, Saturn and Arcade.

That would be wonderful, but this iteration of Sega Ages appears to be one deluxe version of each title. Then again, M2 has wanted this since the Sega 3D Classics so maybe they'll go all out!

Finished up Phantasy Star. Debating Outrun but there’s a couple upcoming that I’d rather get instead.

Behind the scenes on SEGA AGES. Not really anything new but good they're getting attention.

https://gearnuke.com/sega-ages-inter...nd-the-scenes/

There used to be really great and informative blogs at the SEGA website but it seems they took them all down. Most are archived here https://web.archive.org/web/20170630...er-interviews/ with I believe Ecco being the only one not up.

I spent some time reading these when they were still on the SEGA website and they're what gave me the appreciation I do for the group.

I head they did release an updated that improved it a little, but I have also heard people say that removing the borders makes the games run much better. Worth trying.

The Analogue Mega Sg controllers from 8Bitdo will work with Switch.

http://www.nintendolife.com/news/201...eam_controller

Quote:
Based on the design of the fantastic 6-button Genesis / Mega Drive pad, the M30 isn't a 'new' product as such – we already know it's launching alongside the forthcoming Analogue Mega Sg – but the confirmation that this pad is also compatible with Switch is welcome.

The M30 launches on February 28th, and is available for pre-order now, with a price of $29.99. It's also compatible with PC, Mac and Android, and comes with 'Home' and 'Screenshot' buttons, and a battery (charged via USB-C) which lasts for 20 hours. Not too shabby, eh?

That's not all; 8Bitdo is also releasing a new Retro Receiver for the Sega Genesis and Mega Drive. Costing $19.99, this Bluetooth adapter slots into the 9-pin controller port on your original 16-bit console and allows you to use the M30 – as well as your PS4, Xbox One, Switch Pro, Wiimote and Wii U Pro controllers, as well as all other 8Bitdo pads. It also ships on February 28th.

I feel like I made this happen, because I was constantly hounding them about doing a Genesis style controller.

Is this not the same Alex Kidd previously announced? I think you mentioned it a few posts back.

Gain Ground and Puyo Puyo are supposed to be out this month. It takes about a month or two for Japanese releases to come out internationally.
