Default Luigi Mansion 3 - 2019

________________

Original Post:

I know this was mentioned a while ago, and didn't happen at launch, but you know its coming in the next year. At least I hope so. How excited are you for the next chapter?

http://dualpixels.com/2016/03/14/rum...do-nx-details/

Quote:
Geno, the same guy that brought you the best and most up-to-date rumors on the Nintendo NX, rocked the foundations of the internet with his Call of Duty: Bloodlines information, tipped you off on a 3D engine utilizing Pokémon game that came packed with a new Pokémon type way before X & Y came out, and so much more is back exclusively on Dual Pixels to tell you more.
All the details on Luigi’s Mansion for Nintendo NX can be read below:
“Luigi’s Mansion 3 is planned to be Nintendo’s impressive visual launch title. The goal I’ve been told, was when the team at Next Level and EAD Tokyo 2 saw the American commercial for Luigi’s Mansion 2 (aka Dark Moon) their goal was to create something that visually stunning for NX and according to sources they have come “damn close to it” with one saying “it’s going to cause arguments on the internet whether it’s a bullsh*t or not despite us developers knowing you can achieve something like on the current hardware specs”. The game uses a lot of advance lighting techniques to create this “living 3d cartoon movie” look with insanely detailed shadows and transparencies. It also shows off the haptic analog sticks, which will resist when trying to capture ghosts. An AR multiplayer mode is also planned to be in the final version of the game.”

I loved Dark Moon. The original was good too. Had probably the best graphics of any launch Gamecube game imo, even better than Rogue Squadron II.

Never finished the GC game when I owned it but I did recently finally finish up Dark Moon. I'd love to see another one. "Living cartoon" just about sums them up as well.

Didn't play the original either but loved Dark Moon.

It's a guarantee there will be another at some point.

Would like co-op and one really big mansion like the original or perhaps a ghost town that can be explored.

In all honestly, if you guys loved Dark Moon ... you would love the original more. You should try to get yourself a copy and play it on the Wii if you still have it. Even my son who is 9 years old prefers the story, game play and spookiness more in the original, and replays it all the time too.

In terms of story, I would love co-op as well, but I want the world expanded. Maybe King Boo takes over a small town ... so ghost town concept instead of a haunted mansion. It could be called Luigi's Mansion in Boo Town.

Can we get the original on VC too?

I honestly don't remember much about the original, but I feel like I enjoyed it. Would definitely like to give it another try.

Please be true! This is one of my favorite all time series. Dark Moon was great as well as the original. I don't think it gets enough attention to be honest. Seems like we should have more than just two of these gems by now

I thought there was some news, DAMN. Was really excited.

I'm sure there will be a few ports in 2018, hopefully this is one.

I'd love to see a new Luigis mansion. I'd love an Animal Crossing more though.

Nice, sure to make a ton of fans happy. I liked the original when I played it but really don’t remember it much. Will get this if it looks good when I see more.

Maybe the whiners will shut up about the first game coming to 3DS now because it’s now obvious they can make games for *gasp* both systems!

I never played either Luigi’s Mansion titles. I’m hoping the story of this game doesn’t require past knowledge of the others to understand it.

With the GameCube, I wasn’t in the situation to buy every game, I had to be choosy. As for the 3DS game, well I’m not much of a fan of 3DS. I only bought one to play A Link Between Worlds.

It would be great (though highly unlikely) if both games were released as a double pack on Switch. Much like the two Bayonetta games, before the 3rd is released.

I've played both and there's very slight connecting between the two games, nothing major. There's actually not much story at all. They're made to be self contained games.

A 27 minute video for a 37 sec trailer!

- Lighting and reflections engine is on point. The game seems very pretty and detailed overall.
- Charge ability is still present.
- New ability: the plunger gun
- You can seamlessly change between flashlight and the plunger gun and immediately shoot even if you were flashing the ghost.
- Another new ability for the Poltergust 6000: the sudden jet-pack that allows Luigi to jump above obstacles.
- All rooms are reminescent of a Hotel, and it seems quite obvious that the game actually takes place within a giant hotel (despite being called Luigi's Mansion). It also seems to be, as people expected, one single location exploration like the original rather than multiple places like in 2.
- There's what seems to be a light sensor like those in Luigi's Mansion 2 in the main lobby, confirming their appearances once again.
- There seems to be a diamond very reminescent of those in the first game in one scene of the trailer.
- While the trailer made it looks like Luigi is entering the hotel by the front door, it doesn't seem to actually be the case. Luigi is actually entering through a back door and the front door seems to have been condemned.
- There seems to be more interaction with items physics than ever before.
- There's a car in the trailer that's absolutely identical to the one in LM2, and with the confirmation of Polterpup, this does seem to take place right after 2.
- That one may be a bit of a stretch but you can see a purple diamond near the top of the hotel, reminescent of the one of King Boo and could mean that it's actually his hotel that we're exploring.
