Default New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe - January 11, 2019

https://www.usgamer.net/articles/rep...ming-to-switch

Quote:
The report comes by way of Liam Robertson for comicbook.com. Robertson says that sources who have previously provided accurate details for Nintendo projects like Mario + Rabbids, says that the New Super Mario Bros. U port for Switch will include the paid Super Luigi U DLC and possibly even more new content.
Quote:
No release date was confirmed, though Robinson suggests that the game could come out as early as this year referencing remarks from Nintendo about how they still have unannounced projects for 2018. Nintendo's E3 2018 presentation was noted for its lack of games and heavy focus on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
These ports are all great for those that ignored the previous system but as somebody who fully supported the Wii U, the Switch so far has been a very lacking machine.

Guess we'll see. I wonder what kind of 'new content'? There's one addition I'd like to see but I bet they'd never add it.

They won’t do it, but they should make a New Super Mario Bros All Stars.

Give NSMB 1, 2 and Wii HD remakes and just port the Wii U game and DLC.

It's a great game and good for those who didn't get a Wii U, but I'm still a bit miffed that they dumped BC and my existing copy won't automatically work. (I know there are practical reasons for it, but still upsetting.)

Personally I would have rather seen Super Mario 3D Land be ported over. NSMBU was a pretty wonky game, but people like the 2D side scroller Marios...

This seems like a better fit. Great game and Nintendo is bragging up local multiplayer so this would be another good showcase for it. I do like the NSMB series but Super Mario 3D World is a better game.

While I like it and I would definitely love it ported over but I would rather have a brand new Mario game then any other WiiU port. If any game should be ported to the Switch it’s Luigi’s Mansion.

In my mind Wii U ports will always be acceptable because of how few people owned a Wii U compared to Switch. There's a vast audience now who never played the original Wii U version of any of these games. Nintendo is wise to make them available to that audience, especially when a port is relatively cheap and easy to make.

Exactly, it takes little to no development time and resources and brings in almost all profit. It is a good business move that is not a position they have been in before. HD versions from previous generations take more time and their previous consoles sold WAY better than Wii U so more people had the games.

If they port a game I don’t want, big deal. Impact to development time of new games is negligible at best. I had a Wii U for about 6 months before selling it for various reasons gaming and financially related, so I missed out on a bunch of these games.

I was hoping for but not expecting Peach to be made playable. Seems, my wish was half-granted with Peachette. Weird, but better than nothing!
