As a non-Wii U player, I'm glad for this. Hopefully 3D World is soon to follow.

I skipped the Wii but I had a Wii U and a copy of 3D World. However I never finished it and I sold my Wii U.

Definitely a lot of hate for these ports making their way over but as a Switch owner from day one, I'm certainly not going to complain that this is coming.

Day one purchase for me.

People complaining about Wii U ports need to keep in mind these games are not targeted at Wii U owners, they are for everyone else. The Wii U sold a little more than 13 million units in its lifetime, the Switch surpassed that in the first year. A lot more Switch owners than there are Wii U owners.

I'm assuming people think it is taking away resources from Nintendo? I don't know. As long as a few new games come out as well, I'm happy. Very excited about Luigi's Mansion 3

There will be a lot of Switch owners that have never played this game, because the Wii U only sold 10 consoles or so.

I think for me (As a Wii U Owner) the fascinating part is that Nintendo believes these games are what fans really want so badly that all of them combined only moved 13 million consoles. They Didn't move Wii-U's off the shelf why is this their strategy to move Switches off the Shelf?

Seems Weird to me.

They're not being released to move Switches off the shelf. The Switches are already moving off the shelf at a pretty rapid pace. The ports are being released to capitalize on the new audience Nintendo has now captured.

Sure, people may not have gone out of their way to buy a Wii U to play these games, but now that they have the Switch, many will buy them. It makes perfect sense.

Pretty much all of the ports sold better on Switch than they did on Wii U. The Wii U failed because of bad marketing, not because of the games. There are still people to this day that think the Wii U is just a controller add-on for the Wii.

The Wii U failed because it was a terrible design concept to begin with.

That too, the Gamepad sucks as a controller and the battery life is terrible. Also it takes forever to load the home screen. The design of the Pro Controller was bad too, all because they wanted to mimic what was on the gamepad, with the right thumbstick being above the buttons. (Being directly below on the Joy-Con isn’t great either, at least on the Switch Pro Controller it’s offset as it should be)

I don't know why people complain about ports at all. That's this generation of gaming. Just rehashed remastered games most have played before.

You ain't kidding.

I brought mine along with 3D World to a community gaming day once, complete with Classic Controller Pros. One guy setting up a Wii U of his own says some things...

Guy: You don't need those. [the Classic Pros]
Me: Yes I do.
Guy: You can play that with just the Wiimotes.
Me: Watch the pronouns: Yes I do.
Guy (hold up Wii U Pro controller): These are better.
Me: Not for me they aren't. And not for anyone who grew up with Dual Shocks either.

I only got about halfway through this on the Wii U, so I'll probably buy it again.

That's the best reason not to complain. I've come to terms with the whole port/remaster thing. Most of the games I've been playing recently are from days gone by. I never owned a PS1 so I finally got to play the rest of the Mega Man X series which has been awesome.

I wonder how many people complaining about ports bought an NES and/or SNES mini.
