Default Digital Copy (4K Codes Only): BUY/SELL Thread

Sorry mods. The non-Disney thread is full of too much clutter and people posting with too long of lists to scroll down on my phone. Some sellers have their 4K codes mixed in with HD and SD codes and itís too much of a chore to read through.

The 4K code market is big enough it should have itís own thread for people looking to buy and sell 4K codes only. The non Disney should be HD and TV Shows only (since currently no shows redeem in 4K on any service).

This is no offense to the sellers that have a list of hundreds of codes and need to make money. 90% of the people posting codes post less than a handful of codes, not a full sears catalog inventory sized list of codes. And most of those codes are HD which some of us have no longer any interest in.

We have a separate forum just for 4K discussion. 4K should have its own thread.

Personally, I don't think it's necessary, but banning WTB post would definitely help.

I don’t think so.

I’ve had a bunch I’ve bought codes from sellers that don’t post in that thread everyday. They’ve seen my requests in the thread and PM me to Let me know they have it.

The 4K market is no longer a niche subset. It deserves to have its own thread.

What’s more annoying is the group of sellers that repost their long lists of codes. And it’s not uniform. Some post hundreds of codes in alphabetical order with all their sd hd and 4K codes mixed. Some post the same codes that will likely never be bought that aren’t rare.

It makes more sense just to have a 4K code thread by itself.

I'm not sure banning the WTB post is required, but they certainly should have their own sticky thread

I've been thinking the same thing. A 4K only thread would be very useful. I almost wonder if Disney 4K codes could be included and just have a 4K code, whether it's Disney or not??

I'd say include Disney since you can view Disney 4K content on MA and Vudu.

I wouldnít mind either way.

I just want a separate thread for 4K stuff whether itís Disney non Disney or all encompassing.

I would like a rule in both selling forums that if your list is longer than say 20 lines, you need to put it into a spoiler.

That too.

But let's start with something easier first and that's making this thread the official 4K thread and stickying it. I wanna buy now! Lol

The good thing about a separate 4K thread is you won't have to worry about long lists since the 4K digital catalog is not as big yet as the HD catalog.

And 4K codes have a shorter sell life than HD codes. They go quick.

I am all about 4k. By the time I convert everything I can, it'll just be in time for 8k.

4k should be a separate stream with nothing but 4k threads/posts.

Have any mods seen this or given any thought to this idea?

It seems like this should be a no brainer.

This thread can just be stickied in the forum and be the buy/sell thread. Not sure wht it was moved here.

You don't need to change any forum code or software.

I like the idea, but my worry is that the mods will simply hand out bans like candy if someone accidentally posts a 4K code for sale in the non-4K thread. They already ban (or "suspend") people for accidentally posting Disney codes in the main thread, so you can bet they will jump at the chance to do the same thing if 4K codes have their own thread.

This happened to me yesterday. My first ban. I posted the new MCU codes by mistake in the non-Disney thread for all of 3 minutes before I realized my error. I've been here for 8 years and have 100% possitive feedback from 358 members.

24 hour ban.

Also, why would a ban lock you out of the forums completely? They should be just read only and not allow posting and PMs. You won't even let me read shit? Asinine.

Just out of curiosity, why is there a separate thread for Disney? The rules haven't even been updated in a long time... (no such thing as DMA anymore, even DMR is now referred to as something else with the new website change).
If it's because Disney codes have these points, Sony does this now too (and maybe others)...

I just never saw the reasoning for Disney being singled out. Especially since the trading thread is all studios...

Maybe it's time to update all of them... Simply:

HD buying
HD trading
4k buying
4k trading

And maybe a WTB thread and eliminate WTB posts in the buying threads.
Do we even care about SD codes anymore? Maybe allow SD codes posted at the bottom of an HD buy/trade post (but not in 4k. 4k is 4k ONLY).

I don't see the need for punishment for someone offering a 4k code in the HD section, since you are still getting it in HD... If they don't want to market to the 4k crowd, that's their problem.
But 4k should be enforced to 4k only.

The only tricky part might be insuring codes redeem as 4k... Obviously Disney won't in iTunes, but will in MA and Vudu (and theoretically, if Disney upgrades iTunes movies to 4k, you would get that upgrade...) But some codes included with 4k discs only redeem in HD. Who carries the responsibility of knowing for SURE the code redeems in 4k when it's included with a 4k disc?

Because Disney codes have a different level of demand. People go nuts over new releases and the codes hold their value longer. Also there are a ton of people that have only Disney codes and I don’t want to wade thru 50 Aladdin code posts to get to Brightburn or something I actually would enjoy watching. Basically it’s too much.

I’m all for the 4K code thread. Why hasn’t anyone posted any codes for sale? I don’t have any or I would.

I personally think the Disney and Non-Disney should just be left off, and make each thread based on quality

SD & HD and then a separate thread for 4K only, with ALL titles of that quality. It always seemed silly to make two different threads for Disney and non Disney...

Why was the 4K Buy/Trade/Sell deleted?

Banning WTB posts is one suggestion, but the one that really drives me nuts is that people don't delete their posts or edit titles out of them. If you leave the text of a title in there, even if you put "SOLD" it still comes up in a "search this thread" result.
