Default Fry's hacked?

If you had a Fry's account you may want to call and cancel it. Mine got hacked this morning. Someone ordered something and was shipping it to someone in GA. Luckily I caught it in my email that was getting spammed like crazy (probably hoping it would throw me off). Since they are almost gone anyway and are no longer selling media, you may want to call them up and close the account.
Their phone number is 1(408)350- 1484

Thanks. I haven't ordered from them in years, but I still get emails from them almost daily so I'm still in the system. I didn't know they stopped selling media, I just knew that their online store never had anything in stock that was advertised in their emails, and they don't even have a physical store in our state. So, we just stopped bothering. That said, are you sure it was Fry's that got hacked, and not you?

Glad this was posted.

Just happened to see this and check for fun on my account and indeed mine was as well. I logged in to see I have an iRobot vacuum cleaner in my cart and my address was changed to NJ. Long story short, Fry's cancelled my account and let me know they apparently tried to buy the damn vacuum cleaner 2 other times, but it was flagged and didn't go through.

So, nope, not necessarily just the OP. Take a few minutes and check, as he/she suggested.

I think this might not be Fry's problem directly, but the fact that we all haven't used them in years, and so never updated an old password that was compromised from elsewhere. I'm currently being subscribed to several hundred newsletters to mask the order emails, as you described. But when I changed the password for my Fry's account, I noticed it was the same ancient password I used elsewhere. I think JurassicBD is right, but it might also not have been a recent hack that exposed your password, and certainly wasn't directed at you.

I think I tried to delete the credit card on my Fry's account a while ago and couldn't find a way. I'm pretty sure I ended up deleting the whole account (got tired of their emails anyhow) because when I tried to do a password reset it didn't work.

edit: actually, scratch that, it was under an old different email. my old credit card is in there, but thankfully expired. everything was ok, thanks for the heads up bigjim!

Doesn't look like my account was hacked, but the site wouldn't let me remove my "preferred" card. I changed the expiration date and my password, and messaged them to remove it.

Didn't think a current card was on there, but they actually had a very good Arrow sale last March.

I do wonder what Fry's is being kept alive for.
