I mean, they did release both Stranger Things seasons.
So I guess they do releases with their biggest hits.

And the Irishman is checking all 3 " big hit" requirements:
- Critically acclaimed
- Audiences love it
- On his way to getting a ton of oscar nominations.

I have a hunch Cuaron did the same thing when Netflix stepped in to distribute Roma.

How long does Netflix keep movies on their site? I started to watch The Irishmen the other night, maybe 10 minutes or so. Also I wanted to watch 6 Underground. My luck they will remove it before I have a chance to see it. Just wondering.

Good question. I wouldn’t worry about it for The Irishman (especially with the 150-170 million spent to make it).

On the other hand, I’m sure other smaller Netflix films will eventually recede into the background or even be deleted to free up server space.

It's a Netflix movie, so it'll be there until the service dies. There's no real worry about server farms, that stuff is comparatively cheap nowadays. Vudu hosts almost every major movie ever made, without issue.

Fans can write to him and tell him they would love The Irishman on Blu-ray 4K UHD HDR10+/Dolby Vision/Atmos ... and thank you Marty for making great films that will be seen by future generations hundreds of years from now ... year 3000 and beyond (climate changes permitting).

I'd say the chances are large of Irishman getting a BD, most likely no uhd though. It seems to have made a large impact on the internet and will likely win a few Oscars. I think Marty's war on marvel was a fabricated and brilliant PR move and has really fueled clicks and interest whether its positive or negative about his film while his 2016 silence for instance (I think is better than the Irishman!) people don't even know existed.

It's encouraging...even a 1080p Blu-ray would do just fine eventually.

○ Silence is a good flick, incomparable with The Irishman because of the completely different stories.
But the acting and cinematography in 'Silence' is very good ... the atmosphere, the locales, ... high caliber cast.

It better. There is a MASSIVE audience that doesn't subscribe to Netflix and never will (I'm one of them).

And Netflix they overcharge compared to others.
If they want to please their investors ($$$) they would be wise to lower their rates.
The stock is down right now and hedge fund managers are playing wolves.

I'm with ya, Netflix is not for everyone, Blu-ray is. 4K even more. 3D? It'll be back...

I put on john wick 3 uhd during thanksgiving and my family laughed at me. I think normal people don't care about film discs anymore. Still they were impressed by the insane PQ.

Ha! This is a safe space. No one will laugh at you here.

Everyone who comes in my house literally laughs out loud and thinks it's absurd. Of course, in 2019 is IS absurd, they're not really wrong. I mean obviously we have good reason to prefer discs still, but we're super, super outliers. Also owning more than 100 movies in general, even digitally, is probably an outlier.
