James Brown- Please, Please, Please Jukebox EP with a full color sleeve featuring the banned photo of the white woman on the steps with a black man from 1958. Impossibly rare when I started collecting JB in the 1980s. No idea of the value now.

Hi everyone, I'm new on the blu-ray forum and I'm glad that there's a section for vinyl and old-school stereo equipment!

I have more records than I'll probably ever be able to listen to, but everyone needs a vice right? I suppose my best find was actually a 45 which I purchased at a garage sale for 25 cents. It's a Tamla promo: Gino Parks "Fire" b/w "For This I Thank You". Mint condition! I purchased it strictly because it was a promo, not knowing anything about the artist. I was shocked when I looked it up online. "Fire" is such an AWESOME song, but now I'm afraid to play it!

According to Discogs my most valuable record is Bill Evans' "Some Other Time" (~$200-240) from RSD Last year. After that its a couple electronic singles and an instrumental version of Charles Bradley's "No Time For Dreaming" album.

I'm not sure what is my most valuable vinyl, but perhaps the oddest/most unusual in my collection is a still sealed copy of the McDonald & Giles album from 1971. I haven't had it that long - I bought it when someone cleared out the Record Club of America warehouse in the 90s. I have the CD (actually, a Japanese mini LP CD edition, so I know what the inside looks like) so have preserved the novelty of a sealed album from over forty years ago

Well, I've been "collecting" vinyl for over 50 years and I also inherited my father's collection, which goes further back still, so no idea where I would even start to consider most valuable.
But what I wanted to mention, is I'm in the process of moving my collection from one wall in my rec room across to another wall to make room for some new Blu-ray shelving I'm putting in ( an addict is an addict....sigh) and came across something I completely forgot I had.
The original gatefold soundtracks of;
- Star Wars ( with inserts and poster)
- Empire Strikes Back (with insert), and
- Return Of The Jedi (with insert)
I keep all my records in as pristine condition as possible and so these look pretty nice.
Though I enjoy the Star Wars films, I was never a fanatic, so just a case of "out of sight, out of mind" heh.
If anyone cares, I can post a pic of the three.

Don't want to hog a post but just for giggles, thought I'd mention that as far as rock 'n roll bands go, I have all original commercial albums ( except for unique/special) by;

- The Rolling Stones
- The Beatles
- The Doors
- Pink Floyd
- Led Zeppelin
- Black Sabbath
- Cream
- Deep Purple
- Supertramp
- The Tubes
- oh, jeez, I've opened a can of worms, let's just say "and others"...heh

Mine would be Iron Maiden The Soundhouse tapes from 1979, original and very very close to mint condition.
