Default Amazon Europe (Germany, France, Spain) to US - shipping now over 9 euros?

For a long time, the typical shipping rate from any of these countries to the US via Amazon was a little over 3 euros. But today, I was going to buy a blu-ray and saw that across amazon.de, amazon.fr, and amazon.es, the rate has jumped to over 9 euros.

When did this happen? Has it happened before? Is this going to be a permanent price hike? Because if it is, it's going to put a dent in my international shopping.

A single BD (a steelbook in this case) still ships for EUR 3,54 from amazon.de for me.
amazon.fr has always been >8 EUR for me (but then, upgrading to the second fastest shipping method was only a couple of euros more or even cheaper than the slow shipping option when ordering multiple BDs).
I've never ordered from from amazon.es, but was close to ordering a few times and shipping always seemed to be similar to amazon.fr, .es, or .it (i.e., >8 EUR).

I just placed an order from amazon.es. Shipping for one item was around 9 euros. I ordered three blu-rays and the shipping stayed the same for the additional items. Just order more!!!

Gotta be something on your end. I have a cart with 12 items from Amazon Germany and shipping is only €7,47, which is ridiculously cheap.

Yeah same here. Same low price from Germany.

France and Spain have always been on the higher side. Japan even more so, though at least your order get it in 3-4 days!

What were you trying to order?

Amazon.de still shows the following standard shipping charge to the US: 3.00 per delivery  + 3.00 per kg (proportionally)

It's possible Amazon has the weight incorrectly listed as 2 kg.
