Smile Sony's 2018 A8F series OLED UHD TVs

Sony has a moratorium that prohibits authorized dealers from announcing SURE pricing on the 2018 A8F OLED UHD TV series. But we are permitted to discuss the product and I launched an A8F dedicated web page with all of the new specs and the .pdf spec sheet.

I'm allowed to announce the prices and launch date on March 22nd at 9AM EST. So set your alarm clocks and check back here for the up to the minute news and prices on Sony's highly anticipated 2018 OLED series.

We'll began shipping 65A8Fs on March 30 followed by the 55" A8F early April. So we're ahead of schedule for Sony's 2018 OLED A8F series.

Here's the launch prices:

- XBR-55A8F $2,798

- XBR-65A8F $3,798

Plus we're sweeting up the deal with our A8F launch promotion of an additional 10% Sony Rewards Credit so our clients would have $280 for the 55" and $380 with the purchase of the 65". The credit can be used towards any Sony accessory, e.g, receiver, Bluetooth headphones, BD player, etc.

Just wanted to correct a misconception. I've received a lot of phone calls and emails telling me the A8F is a lower end model than the A1E and the truth is that the A8F is not a step-down model.

From what I am told we have three differences between the two models:

- The A8F has a better built-in audio system with twin sub woofers

- The A8F has LG Display's new OLED panel

- The A1E is heaver as the back was engineered to support the sub woofer and support the TV so it sports a reinforced back and a tempered glass sheet to support the easel stand, but the overall build quality is very much the same.

Also the X2 Extreme processor was retuned to LGD's new OLED panel.

By fall of this year we might see a second tier of Sony high-end TVs with the upcoming X1 Ultimate processor that was demonstrated at CES 2018.

I wonder how long they would continue to build A1E's with the old panel, that many in the pipeline? Or you think they will stop production at some point?

The AF8 is on my radar for sure.

Sony won't say, but my guess is once they run out of 2017 panels they will discontinue the 55" and 65" A1E. The 77" A1E continues and will get the 2018 LGD OLED panels.

Sony just announced a price drop on 55" and 65" A1Es. Here's the new prices:

- 55A1E $2,499

- 65A1E $3,199

We spiced up the deal with an additional exclusive promotion; 10% Rewards credit and 24 months interest free financing.
