Default Dashboard Running Painfully Slow

So my xbox one x Scorpio edition has been going painfully slow moving around the dashboard and sometimes freezing partially. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a fix beyond factory resetting it?

When I start getting those weird problems I do a restart (NOT a reset) and make sure there aren't any storage issues, for some reason my X tends to save games on the external and DLC/updates on the internal or vice versa and it adversely impacts performance.

Every time you do a restart, the X defaults External Storage to Internal.
