This is an awesome thread idea! Awesome Paranorman poster btw.
Both your setups look great!

I use:
An HTPC (AMD Athlon Dual Core 2.7 GHz Processor, 8GB RAM, Nvidia GTX460, LG BD Drive)
140inch Screen
Optoma HD67 (3D DLP 720p Projector)
Nvidia 3D Vision (glasses and emitter, which is placed on the center speaker)
Polk speakers and Onkyo receiver.

I sit around 9 feet away from my screen and it fills my view completely making it a very immersive 3D experience. Being DLP, I've never experienced any crosstalk/ghosting.
And yes, despite being 720p, the image looks pretty spectacular.

Men in Black 3D Trailer. I put the Pringles can on the speaker to show the scale of the screen .

The Dark Knight on the projector with the lights off:

Projector: JVC X30
Screen: 122" wide Seymour AV Center Stage XD fabric via DIY
Blu Ray: PS3

I have yet to do 3D from my HTPC, haven't invested in the required software to do so.

OP, do you think that your L & R front speakers are to close together?

The poster is a print made by James Rheem Davis an artist who's work has been sold through cinemaoverdrive.net in the past (Not sure what's going on though as I get a bigdaddy page when I hit that now). I believe cinemaoverdrives commissioned work to be licensed but don't quote me on that, I could be mistaken. More of his work can be found here: http://www.giantsumo.com/

If you aren't familiar with screen prints like these you should drop in on the 'Posters' thread in the "Home Theater>Home Theater General Discussion" sub forum. Also hit up http://www.mondoarchive.com/ to check out tons of great work.

You know, they don't look 'too' off to me, maybe a foot either way. To be honest I think people are just so use to seeing speakers on the sides of screens that it seems like where they 'should be', but it isn't, they 'should' be behind the screen, closer to where you've got them.

These are awesome pics of your respective set ups! Need to learn how to upload images onto this site.

My sig tells you what I'm using. Don't have a screen. I use my wall because I dont have very adequate ceiling height to mount it but to be honest....I think it looks fine on my audio tower. I may invest in a screen next year but for now....I'm good.

Thanks very much sir. Fish make great pets especially with the invention of automatic feeders.

HDGoofnut, be sure to cover the aquarium before the shark scene comes on in Finding Nemo or else they may have a heart attack being that close to the screen.

These are excellent setup, would like to have the money and space to set them up. Mine is less impressive and I will display it when I have a few minutes to take some pics.

In the meantime, here is a link to an article about some great themed setups. I especially like this one for watching "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea."

Well, one I get the room completed I will be doing my 3D viewing on a 100" fixed frame 16:9 Black Diamond Screen, using a Mitsubishi HC5 (similar to HC9000) Lcos Projector.
