I can't recall: in the opening credits to the movie, is there an actual logo or title screen? Just trying to find out if the Image and Dynit BDs differ in how the title is displayed, if one has "Cowboy Bebop: The Movie" while the other includes the "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" subtitle.

The logo appears during the opening titles. Dynit BD doesn't have the "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" subtitle.

Original version:

How it appears on the Dynit BD

Thanks for the info. I don't have a good audio setup so I was looking for an excuse to get the Dynit BD and the original opening logos would have swayed me. As it is, Image's BD is "good enough" since the PQ is very similar between the two and I already own it.

Unless the Dynit disc has vastly superior subtitles (in both formatting and translation), I'll probably just stick to the Image one.

I’m buying that. So glad I’ve never bought Bebop before so I could get a gorgeous set like that.

The description on the page says it's going to have English audio (the biggest downside of most foreign releases of the show is the lack of the phenomenal English dub), so maybe this release will be region free.

I'm not seeing any mention of English audio on the page.

Some more details: https://www.dybex.com/fr/blog/news/w...k-space-cowboy

- It will be released in July

- They weren't allowed to include a Vinyl soundtrack

- 45 or 46 copies sold at Dybex.com are signed by Mr. Masahiko Minami (producer), Mr. Shinichiro Watanabe (director), Ms. Keiko Nobumoto (scriptwriter), Mr. Toshihiro Kawamoto (character designer) and Mr. Kimitoshi Yamane (mechanical designer)

- Subtitles on 3 of the 5 Blu-ray discs have been changed slightly

- Each copy comes with either a coin of Faye or Vicious. Copies sold at Dybex.com and their Amazon marketplace store will also come with a Spike coin.

@CrazyBlu-Ray-Fan

1. Please do not quote the entire post with pictures and all.
2. Just because it may be listed as having the dub doesn’t 100% guarantee it, but it’s highly likely considering why Dynit did with the movie in Italy.
3. It won’t be region free. I can pretty much guarantee it. The only region free anime releases are Japanese BDs and Disney’s Ghibli BDs.

That edition will NOT have english support! of any forms.
The Dynit edition also don't have any english support, only the movie has it because the internationnal right-holder is Sony, it's not the same for the serie.

The Blu-ray discs for this edition will be the same as the previous edition (exept the minor subtitle change) the global Video/audio PQ will be exactly the same bit by bit.

The box is pretty cool but the lack of the movie and the presence of useless DVDs are a big drawback for me, I will probably not get it since I already have the previous red edition.

I feel the same. It will also be missing much of contents from the red box booklets.

Must be the changes from the Remix versions? I'd heard one episode had some significant changes for an opening sequence of something.

Ballad of Fallen Angels is missing the establishing shot at the beginning of the episode (about 30 seconds).

I'm confused by the wording used by Dybex, because the Remix version on the BD is the director's cut afaik.

Man, that set looks great.

Sucks that America has probably the most boring release (imo). Even the Amazon edition I got is just kinda meh.

The signed sets are randomly packaged, so it's basically a lottery. No ETA on pre-orders, but I expect it will be in stock without a warning.

Why?
it would be an extremly dishonest move of the distributor to list those copies aside, especially to the authors who accepted to sign all these disc holders. It's something done for the fans. It's also a clever move to the eventual resellers seeking to make a quick buck by buying part of the stock and reselling them for twice the price on ebay & friends.
I think the whole point is rather, you either want to own this set or not. If yes & planets are aligned you get a signed one. If not then you didn't want the product and cared only for the signatures and those you can get at some events on some shikishi. US is still the only release to include the soundtrack on vinyl, which I'm a sucker for. The CDs are nice to have, but those have been available separately for a long time. It does look really nice, and the signatures would be cool if you were lucky enough to get a signed one...
