Why? 3 game remastered collections came out for the PS3 all the time at $60 or under. I expect this to be no different. They may have an uber collectors edition for more money but the 4 games vanilla will not be more than a normal release.

I agree, this isn't the first time we are getting a game collection and none have been over $60. Halo won't be any different than GoW or any other franchise that has gotten HD collections.

Dishonored Special Edition had all the DLC (which was actually outstanding) and sold for $39.99.

I am not angry about the $60 price tag on Last of Us, but as much as I loved the game it's not a game I am in a huge hurry to replay. $39.99 would have made it a mandatory Day 1 purchase. Last of US at $60 is a better value than Tomb Raider UE was though.

It will be $60 at MINIMUM. I wouldn't be upset if it was $79.99, but there is absolutely no way MS will charge anything less than $60 for the MCC especially when you consider that Halo: Anniversary sold for $39.99. That price shocked me.

From Eurogamer.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/20...t-for-xbox-one

Halo 2 and a Halo 2-4 bundle. Both get beta access.

Quote:
The poster said Halo 2 Anniversary Edition would launch in two forms: a Collector's Edition with Halo 5 beta access and a War Collection, which includes all of the above as well as Xbox One ports of Halo 3 and Halo 4.
And then the 1-4 collection, no mention of beta.

Quote:
Engadget claims Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4 will be repackaged in high definition remaster form on Xbox One ahead of the release of Halo 5: Guardians in 2015. It looks like Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach will not be included.
Would be weird if the only way to get the beta is with the stand alone Halo 2 release(s) and not the full 1-4 collection. The way it sounds is you can get Halo 2 and the beta or the Halo 2-4 collection with beta but not the 1-4 collection with beta.

I personally don't understand why they are even bothering with the Halo 2 Anniversary. I just can't see many people who would buy a re-release of Halo 2, but not buy a re-release of Halo CE and Halo 3. Halo 4, maybe.

Release the whole set.

I agree, I also can't see anyone spending $40 on H2A when for $20 more or something close to that you can get the whole series. I mean even if you hated 1 of the Halo games it's still a great deal.

I'll be buying the 1-4 collection regardless if I get a H5 beta or not. I just hope it release's this Fall. Don't want to wait till 2015.

Yes $39.99 for Halo Anniversary was about $10-$15 too much in my opinion as well, and you are more than likely right, Halo Collection will probably be $59.99 when first released and then after a few weeks, would not be surprised to see it on sale for $49.99.

Default It's official....

Official announcement made today, Halo: The Master Chief Collection hits stores for the XBOX One on November 11th for $59.99.

Features Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 3, and Halo 4. Over 100 multiplayer maps all running at 1080p and 60fps, including six re-imagined maps from Halo 2 revamped for the XBOX One. Also includes 4000 achievement points to obtain, includes access to Halo: Nightfall, a weekly digital series which leads up to Halo 5: Guardians, and those who pre-order get beta access to Halo 5: Guardians, the beta expected to be in December 2014.

Sounds like its exclusive to XBOX One, everything on a single disc, no mention at E3 of an XBOX 360 version.

Even though they said it at the MS presentation, I call BS. It'll be like Halo3 ODST (for the Halo Reach beta). You'll don't need to reserve it to get in the beta. You'll be able to buy the game one release day (without reserving) and be able to get in the H5 beta.

Did they even say it's only with a pre-order? I thought they just said it comes with it?

They said it comes with "reserving it" at the MS presentation. I still call BS on it though.

I looked at that part again, they definitely said it's included in the Colleciton. They never mentioned that a pre-order or reservation was required

$60 seems like a very fair price to me for all it includes. This will probably be the title that convinces me to buy a next gen system as I've seen absolutely no reason to buy one so far.

$15 a game and all the extras seems pretty fair to me.

Anyone who has been gaming for a while knows it's all a marketing gimmick to get people to pre-order to get a beta invite, or a special in-game item. There will be plenty of shelf copies that will have the beta with them too. They did the same thing for Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition stating that a special Master Chief avatar armor would be for pre-orders, when all of the first pressings had it inside. They say all of this to get people to rush out and pre-order, nothing more, and something that is probably not a surprise to you, or anyone else here. How about those Call of Duty prestige editions that they say each year will be highly limited yet can be found generally at clearance prices six months later?

Anyone who wants in on the beta for Halo 5: Guardians simply need to just pick up one of the first pressings of the Master Chief Collection, which will be quite plentiful out there when it is released.

I'd pay the $60 to have everything in one nice package. Sounds like it branches to the next game once u finish the last one so it's seamless. I'd do a legendary run b4 5 comes out.

If only ODST and Reach were in it.
