Also grabbed a DVD copy of Heavenly Sword for just $4.99 - can't argue with that price. I watched that CGI movie on Netflix about a month ago, it wasn't too bad - and it has my honey Anna Torv from Fringe voicing one of the main characters.
Got mine as well. My BB had 2 but WM had about 6.

And why did you not get the BD for Heavenly Sword?

I didn't like the game that much so I doubt I'll like the movie.

Ah, Awesome - didn't know it was on BD too - I'll return my DVD, then, and get the BD somewhere else. I thought it was just a DVD-only release.

Grabbed a copy of the film during my lunch break. Looking forward to watching this for the first time. My Best Buy didn't have many blu-rays of Marnie.

I bought it at BB as well - they had two copies on the absolute bottom row of the "New Release" aisle (nothing on display anywhere).

I wanted to get it there rather than chance another slipcover fiasco with Amazon, as was the case with "The Cat Returns."

Picked up my copy today during lunch from Best Buy. There were about 5 copies left, all with beautiful slips.

Can't wait to watch this one.

I watched it last night. I thought it was a lovely film, both visually and in terms of the plot. As many people have said, if this is the last Ghibli film, at least they're going out on a high note.

I preferred the Japanese dub to the English one, which seemed to be a little over-wrought at times. I also thought there were enough subtle cultural elements in the movie so that the Japanese language just seemed to fit better.

By the way,
[Show spoiler]is that Miyazaki (on the left) making an animated cameo in the wedding scene? Kinda looks like him.

Why don't the reviews ever mention how bad the telecine wobble is on all Ghilbi films? The picture looks like it's trying to jump off the screen.

From what I understand, they add fake wobble to make it appear more film-like. Which really sucks. I can't watch 'Castle in the Sky' because it's so distracting. Almost makes me dizzy.

I just noticed the top of my bluray disc has some light scratches (near the center) but my DVD copy does not. Is anyone else's scratched? I'm wondering if it was received that way or if my player scratched it.

I finally sat down and watched this, and what a great movie, sad that it's the last Ghibli movie, at least for now, but it's a fitting 'swan song'

I was very disappointed with The Wind Rises, and thought From Up on Poppy Hill was just alright, but this and Kaguya proved that Ghibli can still make amazing movies

I do hope this is not the last we'll see of them but even if it is, I think they ended on a high note, and I still have 'Only Yesterday' to look forward to
