I would be surprised if this even comes out at this point. Seems to be in the same situation Scalebound was in. From all reports it was decently fun to play at e3 but nothing else seemed to be taking shape in a more technical manner. If they keep developing it I assume they'll move away from the cell shaded look and towards a more realistic one. MS can't seem to catch a break with their exclusives. The only big budget they have left (besides Forza) is Sea of Thieves and that doesn't look to be in great shape either. I can only imagine how much money MS has sank into Rare for what they've made so far.

They keep saying there's more to be announced and they really need to get out in front of that train sooner rather than later if it's true.

Not surprised at all. It was supposed to be out in a few months, yet there really hasn't been much news at all about it since E3.

Not surprised either. It looked pretty "meh" at e3. It could use that extra time.

Just get it on PC then. No sense buying a console for 1 game. Plus if you get it on PC it becomes Play Anywhere and you should get a digital token for the Xbox copy.

Seems like more of the same instead of the "revolution" it was originally supposed to be. Not surprising at all as I'm sure they were told to finally temper themselves and just get something out the door. I've never been a huge fan of the series but I'll give it a go thanks to Gamepass.

Crackdown 3 looks like a diverting, entertaining piece of gaming, one that is likely to find favor among the series’ fans, who haven’t been served a sequel in nearly nine years. But it’s not the marvel it was originally supposed to be, nor the broadly appealing platform-exclusive blockbuster that Microsoft needs it to be. I suspect it will serve best as a decent attraction on the company’s good value Xbox Game Pass subscription service. Look out for Polygon’s full review in the days ahead.

Watched a bit of the game.

Art direction reminds me of Agents of Mayhem. Cept, Agents looks better in gameplay & story. Yikes

I couldn't care less about the multiplayer but

Quote:
You can't play Crackdown 3's competitive multiplayer with friends at launch, Microsoft has confirmed.

Microsoft recently held technical tests for Wrecking Zone, the destruction-based competitive multiplayer portion of Crackdown 3, and players noticed they couldn't invite friends.

It turns out, this standard feature will skip the full launch of the game, too.
Quote:
Crackdown 3 is, essentially, two different games and comes on two different clients. The first is the campaign, which you can play co-op with another player. The second is Wrecking Zone, a 5v5 multiplayer competition. The campaign was primarily developed by UK company Sumo Digital. Microsoft lists the developer of Wrecking Zone as Elbow Rocket. However, many other studios have been involved with its troubled development over the years.
Seems Sumo did their part.

Pre-loaded this with Game Pass. Not expecting much, but seems like it could be fun. Worth a try. If nothing else, it will be interesting to see how this looks on the Xbox One X. It's supposed to run in native 4K on the X and also supports HDR.

This feature was added several months ago.

Quote:
Crackdown 3 preorders recently hit the Microsoft Store, seemingly also opening preloading for members of Xbox Game Pass. While previous Microsoft-published titles are available under the service, the lack of preloading meant full downloads on launch day – not ideal when titles frequently surpass 50 GB. Xbox Game Pass preloading has been in the works for some time and appears to be finally making its debut ahead of Crackdown 3's February release.

I'm leery of anything DF says. Their lips have been firmly planted on MS' junk ever since the introduction of the X1X.

How so? By correctly concluding that the most powerful console ever released produces the best experience in terms of visuals on the vast majority of games?
