I was invited to attend Panasonic's press conference, which is the day before CES opens. I'll be reporting live directly from the press conference so stand by for my posts on what they announce. Monday, Jan. 6th early afternoon.

I'll also be attending and reporting on LG's, Sony's, Samsung's and NPD's pre-CES press conferences.

Cool. Let's hope they re-introduce the 77" model. I'm also interested to find out if we'll be going yet another year with no HDMI 2.1 or if tv's will finally start including the chipsets at some point throughout 2019.

Very nice! These black levels, even coming from the amazing VT60, wow...pitch black! So cool. And the HDR is ridiculous, looking forward to getting mine calibrated but for the meantime THX mode with all motion settings turned off looks pretty amazing, watching the opening credit for Mission Impossible 4 I was just laughing.

I picked up the 65EZ950, I really wanted the 2018 model but there was one unit left of the EZ in Panny's warehouse and they had it on clearance for employees for 75% off, so I got it for CDN$1600. How could I say no to that? I got $700 cash for my 60VT60, market value dropped quite a bit from last year when I tested the waters and got offered $1200 for it.

What did you move your VT60 for? Was it the 60"?

I wish we got more 4K content in Canada from TV providers, I don't think there has been a 4K program on yet on my Bell as the Jets games on TSN are blacked out. So I have to wait for Leafs or Raptors. Lots of content next April when the Jays kick back off, all 81 home games in 4K.

I have had many great Tv-sets up through the years (incl. several Panasonic Plasmas and a quality LG LCD LED FALD) but my current Panasonic 4K OLED Tv (last year's model TX-65EZ950E) is without doubt the closest thing to tv-perfection I ever had

Fantastic natural picture and colours, deepest black levels and practically no 'faults'/'glitches' whatsoever. I simply adore this tv, it cost me an arm and a leg up here in the Nordics but was worth every penny! Highly recommend the Panasonic 4K OLED!

Well Panasonic hasn't officially announced any line-up yet but apparently at this morning's press conference they did confirm a new flagship OLED for 2019, the GZ2000.

No word yet on which markets it will be available in.

Fingers crossed for 77" and for Panasonic to follow LG and include HDMI 2.1 as that 13ms response time will come in mighty handy for FPS gaming.

My fingers are crossed for Panasonic to simply return to the U.S. market.

I have been holding out, but also for other reasons, jumping to a 4K set. I love my Panasonic plasma, 11 years old and still going strong, but I am planning on upgrading to 4K around October/November of this year and would like to stay with Panasonic and one of their OLED offerings, so hopefully this is the year they return. If not, I will be aggressively looking at the 2019 offerings from LG and even see what Samsung does with their MicroLED but thats probably a few years off from being affordable.

Panasonic made great plasmas - their VT/ZT was almost perfect (I used to own a 65" VT60). Would be great to see them releasing OLEDs here in the U.S. At some point I will have to replace my living room display and I would seriously consider a Panasonic OLED presuming the same expertise when into it like their plasmas.

That is a great deal on a EZ950, I sold my 60Vt60 for the same price also, I also picked up a UB900 for 170cdn off kijii,

13ms is still not good for FPS.

Still not ideal no but a big step forward compared to the current ratings for LG, Panasonic and Sony which I believe range from low 20's for the LG and Panasonic to low 30's for the Sony.

Vincent from HDTVTest has a video up were he mentions the set is supposed to have ALLM but no mention of VRR. Unfortunately the sets won't have actual HDMI 2.1 chipsets.

There has been a hint though in another interview that this isn't the only model range, if true I suppose there is still the slightest possibility that a 77" model may exist there but I'm not holding my breath. If another range does exist, which has been the case the past few years then hopefully the only difference is in the audio and possibly stand as it would be horrible if say this other range does have a 77" but the overall picture quality of the range is somewhat inferior to the flagship range.
