Question how are customs with amazon.com?

has anyone had issues buying from amazon.com and being hit with custom fees?

because amazon.ca is a joke and im thinking it may be worth the risk to buy from amazon.com

I just placed an order and expect t in the next couple of weeks (No Country for Old Men and Cars) I am not expecting to pay duty. If you read the shipping section of Amazon.com they explain that they take the projected money for shipping and duty fees up front. Prices are still better than .ca Those two movies in my order was $15 less from .com even after the shipping and fees.

Hope this helps.

I have had about 30 shipments come from Amazon.com to Canada and there has not been any duty or customs charges for me yet. Even my two orders from Amazon.uk didn't see any duty or import fees.

I work for the post office, and you won't see duties or customs charges on amazon.com purchases. Reason is they ship from the US to their warehouse in Ontario, and then redirect them via Canada Post. Importation charges are included in regular shipments within the company. It's all good.

I've ordered about 10 times from amazon.com for delivery to Toronto.

Usually takes about a week and I've never paid any import duties.

Orders ranged from 1 DVD to 4 DVDs at a time.

Shipping cost is usually $8 on the first item but seems to drop to $4-5 for extra items on the same order.

Can you tell me how you can order through Amazon.com? When you try to sign up for an account you can only choose the states in amazon.com...

I think you're safe - I've ordered hundreds of $ worth of movies at a time from Amazon in the UK and have never had a problem.

Create an account on Amazon.ca, your user ID and password will work on all Amazon sites worldwide.

That is correct. I made my first order for an import from the UK, "The Island" and the transaction was flawless. Total cost including shipping was around $37.

Never choose the courier option on amazon.com and you will never have to pay taxes or duties on your purchases.
