We're talking about our personal favorites, with no attempt at objective analysis?

This is almost too overwhelming.

Top 100 movies...in order.

I don't think I can do it.

...I don't have the strength.

Well first of all, you can only list up to 50. Other than that, your list is whatever you want it to be. You can list your favorites or you can list the movies you feel are the most influential and accomplished. My suggestion would be a little of both since there is probably a lot of overlap between the two criteria. Have fun with it. Make your list your own.

Reserved. Just an FYI my list will be personal favorites, and not what I consider best, as that list would be significantly different.

Mine too, lol. Actually I have no idea what the distinction is. "Best" is an intrinsically subjective word. All judgements about movies are... judgements... and therefore subjective. You can try to construct a list based on some hypothetical universalization of a multitude of other people's subjective opinions, filtered at your own subjective discretion, but I never understood the point of that. I say, drop the pretence and just list the movies you like best, and if you want an "objective" list (i.e. a hypothetical universalization of subjective opinions), wait for the results!

Completely agreed. I think it's more of a fear that if someone lists a film that isn't considered great or one of the greatest by the general consensus then they feel they have to classify it as a "guilty pleasure" which would fall under a personal favorite.

@Grethiwha & MassiveMovieBuff,

Indeed, it's open for your interpretation. That way people can make the list they want. Either if it's 'best', 'favorite', a mix of both or the descriptions are the same to you ... It doesn't matter. Goody, huh?
