Canada Morrissey's HT

Hi guys! I just updated my gallery with the new SVS subs and thought I would finally create my own HT Thread.

The last year has been pretty fun...finishing up our basement, upgrading my Paradigm Monitor 11s/cc390 with Paradigm Studio 60's/cc690 and now thanks to the help of the SVS Thread, the recent addition of dual SVS PC12-Plus Subs.

Thanks everyone that has visited my gallery and leaving such kind feedback! I really appreciate it and gives me motivation to push on...(not like I really need motivation). This is a great hobby and it's nice to share it with such a great group of people.

Please leave me any feeback or suggestions on improvement.

You know how i feel about your set-up Morrissey. It is a 10! I love the Paradigms, the SVS subs, and the fact that you did the remodeling of the basement in the style that you did. I wouldn't change a thing in there...beautiful HT! Next.....projector and screen!

I knew you were going to add an expensive upgrade in there somewhere. Projector and screen has been discussed with the wife. She didn't say no.

I think my next upgrade will be the Emotiva XPA-5.

Thanks man! Appreciate all your advice when I was trying to decide between the single Ultra or dual Plus's. I know I made the right choice thanks to you and the others on the SVS thread.

You are welcome....and I will be plenty jealous when you add that XPA-5....there is one in my future...but I need better speakers to justify adding it to my set-up....not everyone has Paradigms!

Plus I'm sure your pj and screen would be top notch as well.....making that room complete!

Do you have a plan on auditioning speakers? Any certain ones come to mind right away?

Definitely....PSB's, Monitor Audio, Mirage, Paradigm, Energy, eD, Totem, Def Techs and B&W are ones I plan to give a listen to....a few dealers are close-by, and others are not.....but it will be most of this year if not into next year before I can pull the trigger since I need the WAF and the $$$ to buy them and the amp.

To say there is an enormous difference between the Before and After Pics, would be the Understatement of the Century.

You Have One Amazing Set-Up.
The Combination of your room and your System are just Breath-Taking.

I Love the Built-In Cabinets with the glass doors. They set the look of the entire system to a whole New Level. Then the System itself is Awe-Inspiring.

Love the Paradigm Speakers.Every Time I see them I Just have to admit that they are some of the Finest Looking and Finest Performing Speakers on the Market.
And you certainly didn't go with the Starter Range Speakers offered by Paradigm.

The Center Channel alone is one of the most impressive speakers I have seen. And the surrounds round out one impressive set of High Quality Home Theater(and Very Musical)Speakers.

I dont know what I can add to the addition of dual SVS Subs.
Known for their Deep,Tight Bass, they are some of the Forum's Favorites as well as receiving excellent Reviews from Magazines,Websites,Forums, and Most Importantly,Owners.

Every Part of the Room,as well as every part of the System are Extremely Impressive and I am Sure is Capable of Amazing Audio and Video Quality.

Thanks for Including the Before Pics,as that cast a whole New Light on where you came from and where you are now.
One of the Very Finest Jobs I have seen on the Forum.

Congratulations on having a Set-Up that most of us could only dream about.
But,seeing the Before Pics also Provides an Amazing Amount of Inspiration.

I Just Want to Say Thank You for Starting Your Thread.

Auditioning speakers is one of my favourite things to do. In my journey, I found that Paradigm, PSB and Monitor Audio were my top 3. I couldn't afford the B&W's that I listened to. I really would have liked to audition Axiom and Totem as well.

Didn't you say the same thing for your second PC12? You ended up getting it like 4 months later?

Hi Morrissey!

Like I said in my comment to you a while back, this is one of the most aesthetically pleasing setups I have seen. It oozes class and attention to detail. I have yet to hear the particular model of Paradigms you sprung for, but they certainly have an outstanding reputation, and the look of tremendous build quality.

Congratulations on a job well done and a great HT space!

John

Hey Morrissey,

Glad to see you start a thread. Your theater is incredible and I am extremely jealous of your CC 690 V.5. Hopefully that Paradigm center will be gracing my theater with its presence in the next couple of months.

BTW, what is your favorite Morrissey/Smiths album?

Bona Drag and Meat is murder would be my answers......

CONGRATS on the twins & thread. One is enough for me at this moment. I have an idea how I'd use two up front in a dedicated HT with a projector & screen. The three front channels would go behind the screen. Then I'd hide the cylinder subs in floor to ceiling hollow columns flanking the screen near the front corners. The columns would have a diameter slightly wider than the subs & be made from wire wrapped in a acoustically transparent material like speaker grill cloth. Would have people wondering where's that awesome bass coming from.

Nice looking setup you have there. I have always loved the way Paradigms look. Their sound is nice to. I really like your setup.

Thanks phansson, you're gonna love the 690. Let me know when you get it. Enjoy! My fav Smiths album has got to be 'Meat Is Murder' and 'The Queen Is Dead'. Brilliant albums in my opinion.
