Thumbs down NOT so SMART after all

Quote:
I’ve always wondered why the hell this car is called a “Smart” car. I mean, is it really that smart? Can it do your bills, remember your significant other’s anniversary or birthday? Can it at least make you look smart while you drive it? No. It actually says, “hey, look at me! I’m*chauffeuring around a jackass that’s not even saving on gas for buying me and if we as much as hit a squirrel we will meet certain death and destruction”. If you fill out the paperwork at the dealership to buy this deathtrap, you might as well fill out your last will and testament. Judging by the picture below, the “Fast and Furious” cleared out tail lights the “previous” owner of this Smart car had installed were not fast enough to avoid the wrath of an 18-wheeler. Smart car? Seriously?

Tell you what, I miss big cars! Sure they're not eco-friendly, but still!
My pops had one of these bad boys with a 429 Cobra Jet when I first started driving, so yes, many tickets were handed my way and I was only 14 Yes, 14 years old with a license

Suzuki x90. Goofy looking thing. I hear it's become somewhat popular with people looking to do some off roading. They made a 4 wheel drive model, and they can be bought for $2,000 or less. Cheap off roading car. But they were crap, and sold like crap. Only made them from 1996-1998.

My younger bro had one of these when he was in high school. Imagine seeing one of these in the school lot around 1996.

Is that a Pinto? My vote definitely goes to Pinto.
And to De Tomaso Pantera and Lamborghini Countach but those are more like WTF in an absolutely awesome way.

Oh dear lord I couldn't agree with you any more. The Pontiac Aztek is definitely in the running for the worst looking vehicle ever produced. It looks like a different engineer/design team worked on each panel separately without consulting anyone else. Nothing flows at all. Broken lines everywhere. Just a monstrosity. Hey, but at least it was available in a two tone, burnt orange & crap-tastic gray plastic color.

What the he** were they thinking?

President Lyndon Johnson And His Amphicar!

Quote:
The Amphicar was a German amphibious vehicle designed to cater to the huge market of people who enjoyed both driving on the highway and awkwardly reversing into lakes. Though the idea never caught on, the car did enjoy a number of big name owners; none were bigger, in both name and stature, than Lyndon Johnson. Yes, he gets two spots on this list, mainly because heís too big to fit into just one.

Itís noted that President Johnson loved his Amphicar. However, since virtually no one in America had no idea what an Amphicar was, Johnson liked to alert them to his carís amphibious abilities in the most hilarious way possible. Namely, he drove directly towards a lake while screaming that the brakes had broken.

I live in a 1950's era working class suburb so imagine my surprise when I walked past this little auto detailing shop and saw this. It's a 1960's era Iso Rivolta IR 300. It was in production for the better part of the 1960's and I'm not knowledgeable enough to assign a specific year to it.

This must have been quite that car because it managed to combine the great strengths of it's time...a gorgeous Bertone body couple with a Chevrolet 327 V8. Yes, they managed to avoid the great bugaboo of Italian cars by factory installing a Corvette spec 327.
