Hi Guys,
I'll be updating two components of my HT in the next month; the tv to a x950H and the receiver. My budget tops out at 1500CDN (-15% tax and misc, so let's call it 1300). My eye is on the Denon 3700 right now. I'm trying to cover most of the bases. The one question i have is how important is IMAX Enchanced? Most other receivers don't have it. is it necessary? The Denon 3700 should be a great receiver for you. |

Sorry to bump this back up, the more i read and understand, the more advice I think i need; or reassurance at least. On this tv I mostly watch movies.
I've run my wires so that everything (xbox, cable box, switch, and laptop) go right into my tv. For the time being I'm using an optical cable to run the sound to my receiver, but i have run the appropriate HDMI too for when I upgrade. Since my initial post, I've read up on the myriad of new features and made a list of things that are important to me. Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Audyssey MultEQ XT32, and eARC. The visual features don't matter to me because I'm either using the built in apps on the tv itself; or using my xbox to play discs, and that's plugged right into the tv. The picture is already beautiful =) The current speaker setup could easily be turned into a 5.1.2 or 5.1.4 by moving a pair of speakers. The area is roughly 11-feet long by My questions are: what's the sound difference between the .2 and .4? is there a big difference between 2019 and 2020 receivers? am i missing anything important for the future? |

The only answer I can help provide is the difference between.2 and .4.
.4 is pretty awesome! You’ve probably seen the term “in a sound bubble “ and that would be correct. It is very immersive! I have 5.1.2 in my living room and bedroom and it’s good. But when I had 7.2.4, it was incredible! If x.x.4 is doable, I recommend that. |
