United Kingdom Urban Legend Trilogy - 88 Films - March 29, 2021

***NEW TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT***
Coming to Blu-ray 3/29 from 88 Films

Urban Legend Trilogy!
Camp fire stories aren't real – are they? Someone thinks they are and, in Urban Legend, they pick off their victims using those apparently apocryphal yarns as a template. The killing continues in Urban Legend: Final Cut, with a new killer – and new inspirations. And if your nerves can handle it, Urban Legend: Bloody Mary places a fresh, terrifying, spin on some old, old tales.
Even better than listening to spooky old stories (“...the call is coming from INSIDE the house...”), these three films are modern slasher classics. 88 Films are proud to present the complete Urban Legend trilogy on UK Blu-ray for the first time, completely uncut.

Never seen any of this series, just checked out the trailer to the first one and looks like fun, think I will pick this up.

Interested in the extras, already have 1 and 2 on blu but might double dip for some solid new extras. 1 is excellent, one of the best slashers ever made IMO.

Depends on who owns the rights, for one thing.

Nice. First one is pretty decent IMO. Second one is basically a guilty pleasure for me and I have not seen the third one yet.

The first one is in bad need of a remaster/restoration. The current available transfer on blu-ray is pretty bad.

Hopefully the extras from the Scream/Shout Factory releases of Urban Legend and Final Cut are ported over to these releases

Might have missed it since this has been on the cards since the middle of last year but has there been any mention of the transfers being used for each film?

Happened to wander into this forum and came across this. I remember somewhat enjoying the first two back in the day but never saw the 3rd. Silent Night, Deadly Night ported over Shout!'s extras. I'm hoping for the same here. I might be tempted to pick this up.

The 3rd isn't even really a slasher (unlike the IKWYDLS trilogy). It's more of a ghost movie.

So we can’t order this directly from 88 Films?

The MPAA cut the first film. I have the Sony blu. The scene where the guy has his face shoved into a toilet bowl full of acid is truncated (pretty sure it's a toilet bowl with acid if my memory serves me). Would be interesting if that material has been restored, or if this is just 88 telling us it's the untampered MPAA R-rated version.

I have no idea whether or not the second film is cut. It's ok, but not as good as the first film.

Like IKWYDLS, the third film is guff. It's not even a slasher.

Really like that 88 box art, btw.

88 Films usually adds preorders to their site two weeks before release date, so it will probably be somewhere around March 15th before you can place an order with them.

Cool set! I already have the Shout releases so not sure I really need these. Never watched the third, though.
