I replace my HSU STF 1 8" downfiring sub with two Sunfire TS-EQ 10 (HSU sub is a very good sub and can handle the load) but I wanted 10" or 12" so I went with two Sunfire TS-EQ 10,my living room is small 12' by 15' ,so I need small sub,my sub are 11" 1/2 by 11" 1/2 by 11" 1/2 cube at 48 lbs. Sunfire TS-EQ 10 can handle the load and more,in the middle price range the EQ 10 have a high end sound,my two subs has more even bass like if my small living room is the sub, you can't tell where the bass is coming from,if you looking for sub they subs rock,I'am very happy with the EQ 10.I post some pictures if I can learn how.

I have had a Sunfire True sub for 7 years and am now building a HT in my basement and buying the EQ 12 for it, should be enought, but ever since i bought my first sunfire, This was the easiest speaker decision for me and never in doubt.

I've owned an EQ Signature for 5 years....the thing is bulletproof! " shake your house apart "

..more than enough :-)

Default I think I blew amp??True Subwoofer EQ 10 - TS-EQ10

So I have had a Bob Carver True Subwoofer EQ 10 - TS-EQ10 since 2006 in my 5.1 home theatre system. It has always been amazingly powerful and no problems UNTIL today.

I was listening to a blu ray of X-Men-First Class pretty loud and then heard the sub make a really loud noise I've never heard it do before.

It still turns on and see's the signal thru the rca input from the receiver but no sound comes out of it anymore.

Did I blow the amps? Could it just be a fuse (but it still powers on) Drivers? Where can I get it checked out or fixed locally? I live in Los Angeles.

Thanks

Sounds like a blown amp... I blew the amp on my Signature EQ a few years ago. Sent it back to Sunfire and they repaired it for me. I hope you kept all 3 boxes it shipped in!

But I have been a long-time Sunfire fan... I used to have a EQ10 and upgraded to the 12 some time ago, and most recently I put the new Atmos in my bedroom. I love their gear!

Did you go with dual 12's?

Multiple subwoofers can be used to help limit modal coupling of bass frequencies to the room,
through judicious placement of the subs relative to the room, each other, and the listening
position.

I just picked up a Super Junior. It is being used in my 2 channel room. I have it paired with a pair of PSB Image B4's. This little thing works beautifully with the PSB's. I have been listening to various types of music, and this little monster is a gem! Tight, quick, and clear.

Default Sunfire XTEQ 8 subwoofer

Hi all,
I just purchased a XTEQ 8 That didn’t come with a microphone to set the eq. I’ve been playing with it a little and it doesn’t seem to be playing too loud. I have a 300w Velodyne that seems to be just as loud. I tried different settings with the eq manually and with it off with some differences but not a huge difference. If anyone has any experience with these please help. I hope I didn’t get a defective product.

Default HRS8 - how do I remove rear plate after removing 12 screws???

Hi - I have a 8+ year old Sunfire HRS8 Subwoofer that has developed a hum. I get the hum with no inputs connected, and I tried locating the subwoofer in different places in my house, on different circuits/phases/etc. I also tried different power cords (including a 2-prong one). I believe it's a filter cap. I've removed the 12 screws around the back, and even though I'm generally "handy", I cannot budge the rear plate out of the box. Iwas wondering if anyone had any suggestions. Do I need to remove the speaker?

Thanks!
/j
