Will there be a UK release of "Safety Not Guaranteed"? - Blu-ray Forum

I've been looking around and there doesn't seem to be any news about whether there are plans for a UK release of the supposedly brilliant Safety Not Guaranteed anywhere, even though one has been released in the US.

Importing doesn't seem possible because it's Region A locked and I don't have a multi-region player. Does anyone know anything about it? Or is there another Region B country that it has been released in?

I think it was released in December so it has some chance of getting a release. No DVD or BD news yet. There is a region B version.

Thank you - I'll have a look for it on the various Amazons. I thought there would have been some news about it by now, but I can't see why they wouldn't release it here.

I take it the pack shot is for Australia given the rating logo ?
All the Australian websites I have used only list a DVD which was released earlier in February. No sign of a BD.

The UK cinema release was by Vertigo Distribution a small UK company so no idea if they do the home release or someone else which may impact whether it gets a BD.

The Australian Blu-ray edition doesn't include any special features...

If you really want to see it then you can watch it on US Netflix now.

Just an alternative if you use streaming as well.

Hopefully there won't be just exclusives released in a couple of countries, and we'll get one here. I can't see why we don't.

It's an alright film, though wholly overrated in my opinion. A rental is advised before purchasing...

I just looked on Vertigo's website and there's a Safety Not Guaranteed section that says "13th May, 2013 iTunes / 20th May, 2013 General". I wasn't sure if "general" meant that we're getting a physical release on that day and, if so, if it'll be Blu-ray or just DVD so I've emailed them, I'll post their reply on here.

Not a big fan of the film...but it definitely deserves better treatment than a basic iTunes release.

Yeah at least a DVD release? Worthy of a casual watch, seeing as both Parks & Rec and New Girl are on UK telly now, and the director's doing the next Jurassic Park.

What I've been frustrated about is Bernie on blu-ray - I know it's just coming out in UK cinemas, but it's been on Region A blu-ray for almost a year!

Still no reply from Vertigo, but considering that the date listed is now 10 days away and there's still no sign of either a Blu-ray or DVD listing on Amazon or any other sites I think we can assume that we're not getting a physical release on the 20th.

The US release is currently only $9.99 on Amazon.com which works out to around £6.50 but it's region A locked, so that's an option for anybody who has a region free player!

Similarly, there doesn't appear to be a UK BD release of Aubrey's 'The To-Do List' either. I'll be going to Australia for that one.

It was only released in cinemas last month (according to the BBFC), maybe they just haven't announced anything yet?

The DVD's been up on Amazon for a while with a February date. Not even a placeholder for Blu.
