About time Blue Underground released something interesting. Now they need to get to work on some Giallo's!

I'm glad they paired both theatrical artworks for this one, instead of tacking the new release with a vomit worthy Melton artwork...

I like the Fulci movies I have seen but haven't seen this one. Worth a blind buy?

I like this movie for it's strangeness but I think most will say it's not worth it. I have the Anchor Bay DVD from 2001 and will be upgrading with this.

I don't really understand it either. What if 50 people tell whoever that it is worth a blind buy and 50 people tell them it's not? What do they do? Your always going to get both answers.

A divisive Fulci film, but one I really enjoy. It's not as good as the Gates of Hell Trilogy or has the atmosphere of the late era Fulci successor Demonia, but it has the offbeat dreamlike anything goes sensibility of these films. It's even tougher to follow as the theme isn't as accessible as those films, and there are glowing lights in place of oppressive darkness, but I appreciated it more in my second viewing where the film came together more..

That bearded twat is the most deserving kill in a Fulci movie. "Rocus docus!" Just kill him!!!

At least he screams like a girl when he goes...

Used to have this on some Anchor Bay two-fer DVD. IIRC I hated it. But releasing lower tier Fulci like this gives me hope that Lustig may turn around yet and release Don't Torture a Duckling after all (if he still has the rights, that is).

it suffers from being released at the same time as his greatest films in the genre. it is different tonally from all his other work at the time.

i've only ever seen a bootleg copy, and i love what blue underground has done so far with his releases. i remember not really liking house by the cemetery at all with by terrible dvdrip and my opinion completely changes after seeing it on blu. a great presentation can vastly change the film.

also, fabio frizzi's scores are amazing and he does not get enough credit. especially for EDIT: CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD. some of those cues are just one could make the observation that fulci's best films in the genre all benefit greatly from a frizzi score.

i still stand by that city of the living dead has some of my favorite horror cues.

I like it. I'm more of a horror > giallo guy and this one appeals to me. As others have said, it's not right up there with City Of the Living Dead and The Beyond, but it's on that Aenigma, Black Cat level. It's got some wacked out supernatural stuff going on, a little less bloody then you might expect from Fulci and a cool soundtrack.

I was hoping for a few more extras given the big "3 disc set" announcement, but I guess a CD and DVD copy = 2 of the discs. Still, I'm strongly looking forward to this.

It's worth viewing before buying and seeing which side you fall on. Some love it, some hate it. I'm in the middle leaning toward hate and haven't re-watched my AB dvd since buying it in 2001. I'm sure there's some way to see it first, just not sure what way that is. Even with Fulci fans as fanatical as they are, I'm not sure a limited edition is a safe blind buy either. If it was top tier Fulci, then certainly a LE would at least get you your money back down the road making it a safe bet, but lower tier is a long-shot on that.

i feel like the LE aspect with all the extras and the soundtrack cd will soften the blow for people who only want to see fulci for gore.

it depends on what it is you like about fulci. if you only want to see gore and over the top violence, you will probably not like this movie. if you are fan of him as a director and just want to get every fulci you can on blu and you want to have it in HD (like myself) than of course you want this in your collection.

with the exception of don't torture a duckling, his arguably most popular films have all been released region A or region free. there is the hope that if this does well than maybe we can get some of the less popular fulci on blu.

plus, how could you not be, at the very least, curious about this hour long video of frizzi talking about his collaborations with fulci? this is the biggest group of extras on any fulci blu release other than the beyond.

Definitely one of my least-favorite Fulci I've seen. Starts off interesting, but by the end was just glad it was over. Wish they'd be doing Murder Rock instead (since I haven't been able to see it yet)

who knows who has the rights to that one? shriek show put it out on dvd. i dont even know if they are still in business. the dvd is OOP.

i would take perversion story first if i could choose, but i think murder rock would be a close second.

It's pretty easy to understand... It's pretty straightforward. Lol. I stated I like the Fulci movies I've seen, but haven't seen this one. It's more so asking whether it's decent or pales in comparison to those...
