I'll be grabbing this first thing Tuesday morning. Haven't seen it in years but I dig Fulci and want the CD that comes with it.
I love that they've loaded the thing up with bonus features as well.

Fulci fans owe it to themselves to grab this set for their collections. It's a spectacular tribute to one of the maestro's lesser but still important films from a period where he was his most prolific. I actually dug the film more when I viewed it again via this BD. I gotta commend Blue Underground for their efforts here - everything is spot-on and nothing in the package is sacrificed. Even the case feels super premium. Highly recommended!

just ordered from best buy. wasn't crazy about this when I saw it a few years back but I have every fulci blu released in the states so I couldn't turn this down. hopefully the new transfer will make the film better if that makes any sense.

The first fifteen minutes of this movie, set in Egypt (before the budget got cut) is fantastic. I also think this is Fabio Frizzi's best Fulci soundtrack next to The Beyond.

Watching this one now, quick intermission. It was a blond buy, it isn't much of a crazy wtf Fulci film like The Beyond in fact as far as I've gotten it's rather dull, story is blah I just wish it contained more wtf moments to make it more worthwhile. Glad to finally see it after all these years.

Transfer is fine and the 5.1 audio is good. fulci fans should like it. Nice set great cover art.

Was doing a little bit of quality control on Manhattan Baby after my viewing and stumble upon this, such a weird artifact. It looks like someone decided to erase a dust using Windows Paint. Sometimes it looks like post production facilities use interns to restore our movies. Where I come from, if I erase a dust and the result looks like that, I'm fired.

It does look noticeably better.

I still found the BU to look good. Possibly the best looking Fulci title on Blu...

Nice deal! I'd only get it at that price. Everywhere else has it for nearly 30 bucks! This is not top tier Fulci that's worth those prices.

I know this is a pretty old thread, but has anyone had trouble with playing this edition? Got a copy in January from Amazon and it stopped playing after 10 minutes and would take forever to go to the loading screen. Got a new copy from DiabolikDVD and had the same issue. Thankfully, I emailed BU and they said they can give me a replacement from a different pressing. Such a shame because I was really enjoying the film and the transfer looked gorgeous.

I guess this limited edition wasn't very popular, as it's still for sale on Amazon. I've never seen this; by all accounts it's not one of his best, but still worthwhile for fans. I'm on the fence...close to falling off on the "buy" side...I might as well seeing as I just scored CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD and THE PSYCHIC...gotta pre-order THE NEW YORK RIPPER as well...I appear to be on a Fulci freakout...

I agree with that assessment. It's definitely not one of his best (I'd say by far his weakest from the 1979-82 era) so it probably won't get many repeat viewings but there are some good Fulci visuals and setpieces as always, and the real highlight is Fabio Frizzi's score which is quite possibly the best one he ever did!

The fact that this release actually contains the soundtrack CD of that great score, and is a solid presentation, definitely makes it worth picking up if the price is right.

It only got a 2K scan. They'd have to do it over.


I wonder if a 4K would ever happen with this one. If not, I'd take an upscale from that 2K master if the color gamut was wider.

come to think of it the blu never did work past ten minutes the part where hes walking into the pyramid is when it freezes strange
