But BU didn't license it from Fox (the back cover copyright on the Blu-ray is to Produzioni Intersound S.p.a.), however Fox might control the best elements.

Arrow's Michael Mackenzie noted back in 2011 that every Blu-ray release of Inferno the world over up to that point (Arrow, Blue Underground, as well as Japanese and French releases) was sourced from a master that Fox put together in 2007.

So I guess we can kiss Inferno goodbye. Really sad.

Everything can change when Disney opens up to making deals but at this rate I'm not optimistic.

Better hold on tight to that Arrow/BU disc.

You're depriving yourself of watching a film because you want it to be in HD for your first or new first viewing.

And this defense while predictable will always be the right answer: Before the HD era people had to rely on bootlegged tapes or other means which most of the time resulted in viewing a film whether obscure, rare, etc. in horrible quality. Someone's defense these days could be we're in a new time where we can experience this for the first time cleaned up and coherently well here's where I'll tear that down:

To that pre-HD era it was about the film itself. It was about trying to watch it by any means. Now, people wont watch a movie with a serviceable 1080p transfer because they want it to be in 4k first.....

Now? now it's not about the film it's about the technology to view it. Get over it guys. If you have a watch list and you're holding off because you want the highest HD release just really think if you're wanting to actually watch the film or the experience the technology.

Everyone is extremely lucky that a lot obscure horror and non horror titles exist with a perfectly adequate DVD transfer and things that are still stuck on VHS at least get better rips by people who give a shit about the film.

What's worse is that people are choosing the "first time only in HD" for films that aren't even too obscure.

For me personally I'll watch a film I own and if a newer, better version is announced not too far along I snag it and enjoy once more. I can watch pretty much any movie in my collection again anywhere from a few days to a week apart.

I'm convinced people who use the statement above are not about the film itself and that's sad.
My issue is, my backlog is so immense, that I'm in no rush to watch it.

My wife is not a huge fan of horror/overly violent films, so that even further lessens the amount of time I get to watch certain movies. I usually get to fit 1-2 movies of that type a week.

I do get what you're saying though, but I'm patient. I would just rather my next experience with the film to be in the best possible format.

Hahaha. I've gotten her to watch a few, but only a few she's actually liked. She tends to enjoy the campier ones that the effects don't look as good.

Does anyone know if BU lost the rights to Bad Boy Bubby? I remember watching that on the BD they issued, and I really liked it quite a lot. Unfortunately, it's long OOP now and goes for stupid money.

Is there any hope of them releasing a UHD of Bad Boy Bubby? I'd be all over it.

I see new copies on eBay as low as $25 + shipping. Might be a good time to swoop in!

Wow! Thanks for the heads up.

I just looked it up and added it to my watch list. Hopefully I can nab it up before someone else grabs it. I can't get it at the moment, as I am broke and don't want to charge it to my CC. I just got the stupid thing paid in full earlier this month.

I do way too much impulse purchasing.

shouldn't reviews of the Maniac Cop sequel 4k's be hitting soon? I'm really curious about em and I plan on getting em anyways. Part 3 ain't as bad as Lustig hates it out to be at least they still had some cool stunts in it.

They’ve been delayed till November 16th, so it’ll probably be a little while.

Fingers are crossed so tightly they might break in hopes that Amazon packages this somewhat decently.

This website is doing the weirdest thing this morning. I was on the No Time to Die thread, refreshed the page, and it reloaded me on this page. It was then showing comments from the NTTD thread, but the title was this one..

Same thing happened to me yesterday but I kept getting redirected to the TAXI DRIVER thread while I was trying to read the INGLORIOUS BASTERDS thread. Maybe all the obnoxious pop-up ads the site has added are messing things up.
