No complaints here.I bought a second one so that should tell you something

It took a little bit to work in but it really gives good bass.I have both my subs on 30% volume setting on the back of the subs.

If I turned it up any more i would knock pictures of the wall.

I have my crossover at 80Hrz and all speakers set to small so these subs are producing most of my bass in my set up.

I do find them tight and very satisfied with the sound. They are spec-ed at 24hrz,so they don't go as low as some other subs but the powers there

I just got the SubDude today. After preliminary testing, I noticed some improvements, but not as much as I had hoped. It may just be that I have a very "rattley" house. I was wondering if the placement of the feet of the sub on the SubDude make any difference. When the sub sits on the SubDude, the feet are not quite half way on the platform. I wonder if it would make a difference if the feet were moved so that they stood firmly on the platform. (I.e. how much of the pulse from the sub travels through the feet, and does the SubDude lose its efficiency if the feet are not firmly on it?)

Any thoughts?

P.s. Taking off the sub's feet doesn't seem like an easy matter. I tried turning one with my pipe-wrench, but it didn't budge. Would I need to get inside the sub to move the feet? That would be a drag, and I probably wouldn't attemt it (unless you guys can convince my that I wouldn't trash my sub (PS-1000v4) by opening it up... if I even can.)

I always wondered how much really i would benefit from something like a auralex subdude

I always thought they were just made for down firing subs

My sub is down firing, but I've heard that it can tighten up the bass on front firing as well.

I just spoke with a rep from Auralex and he said that the way the feet sit on the subdude shouldn't make a difference. The continued rattling that I am hearing is probably the vibrations that the walls are picking up from the airborn pulses. I guess I will just need to experiment with sub placement to try to mitigate those vibrations.

Default Sub 15

Now with the demise of the Servo 15v2, the subwoofer I pined over for year, I will soon be getting the Sub15 in the next two weeks.

I have been without a subwoofer for nearly 5 years, since I sold me PW2200 and always wanted to finally replace it with a high powered 15" monster.

So finally after living in an apartment (no sub) and a townhouse condo (no sub) I have finally moved to a detached house where I can, as Marcus Aurilieus said, "Unleash Hell".

At 31 years old, I don't think I could be more excited about a self bought Christmas gift.

I'll post pics and my thoughts when it arrives.

Default Two (2) Paradigm Studio Sub 12 vs 1 Paradigm Signature Sub 25 (both w/ PBK)

I scoured this thread and several other forums for an instance where some one met this crossroad.

Two (2) Paradigm Studio Sub 12 vs 1 Paradigm Signature Sub 25 (both w/ PBK), what has the best performance?

Hard Facts:

Sub 12 MSRPs for $1999 (USD)

Sub 25 MSRPs for $3999 (USD)

Paradigm's Perfect Base Kits MSRP $299 (USD)

Given that 2 Sub 12s and 1 Sub 25 are equal in price, are they equal in performance?

I got that there is lower frequency response for the larger woofer..With all the audio theory about dual subs and placement.. at almost makes sense to get two Sub 12s. However is the output and use of the PBK going to prove that the Sub 25 is still the better performer?

Thanks

_Bill

Hi guys quick question on my sub setup...right now I have a Def Tech Supercube 1 and getting a Paradigm Sub12 sometime this week. Could the Supercube 1 be used in a dual sub setup with the Sub12 ? Would it sound "off" since they're two different brands and one's a 10" and the other one a 12" ?

Gates, it can be done, but you'll need to do a good amount of tweaking. The key is not to have the 8" sub underperform to the point it becomes noticeable, as a different sized driver can limit the dynamic range making your ears focus on the smaller sub. This will become troublesome as you will begin to focus on its underperformance and you'll have an uneven bass response.

I see...mmm, I guess I'll play around...or maybe just sell it...by the way it's a 10" compared to a 12" and not an 8". I would understand that an 8" compared to a 12" would make a big difference.

Sorry, my bad, but same concept.....however it can be done. I have my PSW10 10" tuned in by using REW: it is set up to handle the upper end of the LFE and it seems to compliment the SVS PC12 12" sub very nicely.

Default sub12 now, plus 2nd sub12 later...or sub15 now???

The title says it all. Would you go for a sub12 now, knowing that in a year you are going to add a 2nd sub12, Or would you go for a single sub 15 now, and no second sub later.

Getting my new sub next wednesday and am having a tough decision on this one. The Sub15 does stretch the wallet a little more all at once and I am thinking the better performance will come with 2 sub 12s.

Little help or advise (and two sub15s is unfortunately not an answer).

Well, I decided after some serious listening that a Sub12 is a killer sub and that going to the Sub15 may add some extra bottom end, but at a cost that I don't feel like forking out right now. So a 2nd Sub12 may be added down the road to improve the sweet spot and aid in achieving a flatter response.

Will give pics and my impressions when I get it home and set up later this week.

We may very well be giving our impressions at the same time as my Sub12 should arrive anyday ...already planning on a 2nd Sub12 as well.

Got my Sub12 today and it's a real treat to have a sub that has tons of power and blends in with the rest of my gear sonically. Big thumbs up on this sub ! Pics in my gallery.

Got my sub all set up and am loving that I finally have bass again after it being absent (other than tower speaker bass) from my system for 5 years.

Choose the rosenut finish as it matches my brick fireplace quite nicely.

I have one at the store that I work at, so I will be bringing that home at some point in EQing it. Right now I am letting it break in and de-stiffen. Already (since last night) I can tell a difference in output. I have watched scenes from Ironman, The Dark Knight, and Wall-E and it is shaking the room. It is not even properly placed yet, just sitting in the middle of my family room floor rumbling away.

Later today I will be watching scenes from Cloverfield, King Kong, Transformers, and Black Hawk Down.
