Dieting is alright for some people, but I still say the best method is moderation...

For me, since I am a woman, I am 5'8" and weight about 135....My tummy is perfectly flat, but I have a big ass lol....legs are muscular, arms, etc.

My husband is not much taller at 5'10" and weighs 195. His stomach is perfectly flat and he has what I call an "emerging 6 pack" where the lines of definition are there.

When he goes to the doctor, they say that he is over his BMI....however, if he lost weight, it would make him look very thin and it would be a loss of muscle. He has literally .003% fat on his legs and 9 or 10% body fat overall....He is nowhere near fat, but because of the stupid BMI, he is registered as overweight...

The BMI is outdated...

Keys to staying thin?

- Get exercise (play basketball, swim, do Tae-Bo - my personal fave, jog, bike, etc.)

- Don't get a second helping of food

- Don't drink so much damn beer (c'mon men!)

- 1 pop/soda a day will not harm you

- Junk food? It's okay a couple times a week...just do it in moderation and not a part of every meal you have

- have a lot of sex...it burns calories and is the most fun

Cool to see so many people using Beachbody products on here. I've used P90X and P90X+ for about a year and a half, and am just approaching the halfway point of BB's new max-interval conditioning program, 'Insanity'. If you guys think Plyo X is tough, just wait until you try this program! It's freakin' incredible.

Is insanity meant just for conditioning, or can you build muscle like P90X?

Well there are no weights used, but you are doing alot of different bodyweight moves (all kinds of crazy push-ups) that you should be able to maintain any mass that you've put on previously. My pecs, tris and delts actually look just like they did during my lifting times, if not a little better.

I cheated today with Weinerschnitzel but I'll make up for it in my jog later. Going to try and jog the entire 3.5 miles.

Good luck with the jog. How did the weekend go with the party and the amusement park?

I've been lazy the last couple of days. I'll get back up on the horse tomorrow tho.

I was going to jog Sunday morning after the amusement park but I was so tired I overslept.

LOL while in line for some of the ride I would use the railings to do dips. At least it wasn't a total waste.

I can do the dips elevated with one leg up now! I would switch off on every 5 like on the Arms/Shoulders DVD.

Lifting weights has been helping a lot.

Have you ever had a day that you just don't feel like doing anything? I don't feel like working out today again, and it's been 4 days since my last workout. I know I should exercise, cuz it makes me feel better, but I'm completely out of motivation today. Do you have any tricks or advice on how to keep your motivation high and/or how to get through the occasional burn out phase?

I really didn't feel like working out yesterday. I think I'm starting to burn out a bit. So instead of taking my jog I just did Kenpo X.

I'm going to do my jog today though. I gotta.

i've been doing 50 sit ups every morning 7 days a week now. since i burned my arm so bad on an exhaust, i couldn't do any pull-ups or hanging ab crunches.

not just sit ups but the ones where u raise u're left leg and touch your right elbow, then raise u're right leg and touch your left elbow. that's counted as 1 rep.

really seems to be adding on some definition more than anything else i've tried in the past.

i always used to do 25 rep's but not on a regular basis. so i kicked it up to 50 rep's i've really started to notice some toning finally.

I'm trying to find it myself at this point lol.

I think that after a while you deserve a week off though. I'm not working as hard this week as previous ones.

Give yourself until you have a total of 7 days not working out and you should feel up to it again.

I was going to go jogging last night, but then it wa my one year wedding anniversary so I stayed home with the wife. Just watched a few movies and relaxed.

I need to go jogging today. No, I will go jogging today!
