I'm in too djvaso and bboisvert, especially since I've never even seen this movie, and had no idea Renoir was involved.

Agree DetroitSportsFan. As noted on the Mysterious Island thread, I think Fright Night is the title that will put this label on the map, especially among folks who would have never have previously considered pre-ordering via mail from a single source only.

If they don't release any more movies that fans of "Fright night" might be interested in (and that seems to be the case), then your comment doesn't make much sense (what would be the point of being noticed by that crowd?). Which is why having that movie in their line-up is odd. At least in my opinion. I think TT are already on the map of classic movie lovers since they released "The egyptian".

And the fact that their next releases are going to be blu-ray only (that's the case with the newly announced "Swamp water", apparently), seems to imply that most classic movie lovers have already moved on to blu-ray and are not interested in buying standard-def anymore. Great news I think. I just hope other studios are catching on and follow suit. There's a market for old movies on blu-ray (beyond big-name titles). They just have to figure out a way of making profit with small pressings, or start licencing out their stuff (Universal, are you there).

Well jaaguir, I'm not convinced TT won't release more 70s/80s titles - the kind of stuff once thought to be 'no-brainer' product by the house labels. These titles could get sprinkled into the TT mix every few months as good high-def elements get coughed up by jittery studios abandonning plans to remaster and rerelease to Blu themselves.

There is a video generation now who have grown up never having experienced limited availability of 'hard' media, or exclusive rights going to cottage labels. Over the next couple of years, we could all be very surprised by what the majors no longer consider commercially viable for mass release on Blu-ray, which Twilight Time, Severin, Image, et al. end up getting instead.

DVD Aficionado lists Pal Joey as Twilight Time's next Sony BD (2/14/12). Picnic already has an announced release date of 1/17/12.

I was kind of cool on buying the Kim Novak Blu's, but this label did such a fine job on The Egyptian and Mysterious Island, I'm thinking of jumping for them anyway. I got over my hopeless crush on Kim 4 decades ago, but I'm definitely smitten by this label!

Thanks for posting the latest art HyperRealist. Both covers are simple, but very evocative.

"Pal Joey" is a must for me. One of my favorite Sinatra titles. "Bell, Book and Candle" will be purchased too.
